I can accept that but we can’t attempt to attract the big boys on minimum wages. We know the score now. We have the money but simply not prepared to use it.So we need to be looking at decent prospects.

The difference in this matter, is the player wants to come here; this has not been the issue on previous lost targets. Money will sort this one way or the other - ifwe lose this guy, all else will be reactionary and not any forward planning.

It’s not difficult to reach that conclusion.

Nothing’s happening because there’s no one making anything happen.

I think player preference played an enormous part in these rejections.

He wants gone.If it had just been another contract then you get your agent to negotiate, or you go to the boss. But he says he wants to explore his options; that’s a come and get me by any metric. I haven’t heard any denial of his statement; I think thats what he wants. If he doesn’t get shifted, it would be poisonous within the team and the supporters. They say we might make a move for Bernard IF Isak goes. We’ll get wrong footed again. We cannot allow this to be down to Isak’s decision before we look at alternates. He has to make his mind up and get his agent to get cracking. We should be after the other lads now. We dont need a sulking player; its clearly unsettling the squad already. If nothing else, we have to show the squad a commitment to all their hard work last season - or we may face even more problems before the window closes.

They lost their manager. They lost their top scorer to ManU. Will they really let their second striker leave?

If Mbuema goes, I can't see Wissa going anywhere.

Must admit, in the absence of anything contrary, he better not be “waiting for better”. -

I want to hear Ekitike’s preferences. Otherwise, it's starting to feel like “Anyone but us”. -

If our ‘bid’ is £70, shouldn't we be offering another £16 million to find out if they're being serious and also able to talk to the player? It would end the speculation one way or another? -

And so it begins. Back to not wanting to get out of bed again. If it wasn’t the amount but the structure of the offer that was turned down, then piss or get off the pot. At the very least, don’t let it look like the scousers are controlling the circumstances. -

It does feel like things are moving with Eddie getting directly involved. -

Apparently, we’re easily led and gullible. Just enjoy it. -
I remember working on the Apron when the two tornadoes collided over the North Sea; remember? We got one of them into dispersal and the security was incredible. As you might imagine, everyone wanted a peek. A colleague was guiding him in but the pilot was ignoring him and shaking his head. My mate couldnt figure out why he was being ignored until the pilot pointed down to the fuel leakage spilling out the belly of the plane where it was hit. We lost interest then and ran off as the fire lads arrived.
