Sup? I turn on (unusually) SSN and there’s all these teams buying in players. We might have the richest owners in the world but are we playing under different rules to everyone else? i am hoping that the boys in the backroom(Hurry up in there!) are playing cards very close to their chest and we’ll get some surprises.

I’ve been watching other comments elsewhere and viewing the pictures of Maddison hanging out with agents Wilson and Tripps. But it strikes me Kane will also have his ear about Spurtz. I can only hope that Maddison won’t be coerced by a player who doesn’t know whether he’s staying there or not.

Lads, please explain this for me? We’re told we’re the richest club in the world but also told we can’t compete with the other big lads. Meanwhile, same big lads are hoovering up the great players. Spending loads. So what’s the story?

I remember when Clyde Best, West Ham was for a time, the only black lad in the 1st Division. He was given dogs abuse; things thrown at him and even posters displayed that nowadays would get you a lifetime ban. Sadly, his own fans would shout horrendous things at him. But nobody said a word. Nothing was condemned; no one brought to book. I’d like to think we have listened to “Our better Angels” but sometimes I wonder.
