I'm the same although I quite like Moyes. Manu should have kept to their word though and given him enough time. Another major factor is that their recruitment was shocking and that new guy they got failed at his job leaving Moyes with a harder task.

I'd take anything right now, I could take cautious football if it meant we had someone good at the helm.

Fair point, never thought of it like that. I'd imagine the 1 billion negatives about the guy outweigh that though.

I can't imagine he'd appreciate having players bought for him, working under Mike Ashley nor having to front the whole damn club in the way AP does. I just don't foresee us ever appointing a manager with any real calibre under the Ashley regime. Put yourself in their shoes. Why would you work, on a very performance based contract, earning less than your peers with less financial support and more general responsibilities due to a clear lack of investment in the club structure when you could wait for another job in a top 11 club? It's such a transient business, that Moyes will be more attractive following a prolonged absence than he is now and he'll end up back at a good club. Spot on unfortunately. Yep, Moyes is a man of values too. Everyone in the game knows what Ashley is now after Keegan and Hughton, someone like Moyes wouldn't go near him even if the money was there.

That statement in relation to Moyes couldn't be more wrong. He has a naturally cautious outlook, that's true. What you've glossed over (or probably haven't even considered) is the fact he developed our football year on year and got us playing consistently good stuff, even if it wasn't always thrilling. That statement in bold, man. Absolute corker. To describe him as an infinite improvement on Pardew isn't doing the situation justice. His Manu team have been shit for the most part but the way people are going on they were playing Pulis Stoke / West Ham fato style football. From what I have seen the style they have played this season hasn't been that different to Fergie's, it just didn't get anywhere near the standard we know and expect. Some people appear to be expecting them to be some cavalier you score 4 we score 5 team after an absolutely awful summer of recruitment and a squad of players who are mostly past it/past caring or very average.

They ended up with a player who wasn't what was required and then Mata who will be a good signing but he wasn't the centre mids, central defenders or everything else they require for this rebuild. In going for a manager like Moyes, someone who hasn't proved it a huge club, they had to firstly back him in the transfer market and secondly give him time to adapt to the job. Looks like they haven't done either, so much for their 'values' that Fergie was talking about. I'd like to hear what he thinks about it.

They should be sacking whoever was responsible for recruitment in the summer over Moyes, terrible job. Moyes hasn't done very well obviously but in what was about as tough as it gets a season to go into he needed massive backing.
