Suppose it suits his style (private) being off the LSE, so he doesnt have to disclose every bit of financial spending to the city. I hope this does signal a greater release of funds to Allardyce.

Understand the misgivings about Taylor getting the armband but I think it could be the making of him (terry got the chelsea one pretty young - although not saying Taylor is as good as him). I think part of the problem over the captaincy is that there are no dead-cert candidates, like a Keane or Adams. Wouldn't mind Given getting the job, as he's probably the most certain to play every game but his position isn't ideal for the role.

Mergetastic! Happy Vic? Would still prefer Taylor to get captain, over Owen. Barton would be good but there's that off-field controversy

Sorry Jamie but that made me laugh

Good news, all that worry for nothing (Owen/Martins). Looking forward to seeing Sam add a bit more quality in the rest of the team (esp LB).

that makes me breathe a bit easier me too but its still as embarrassing as hell. Was just getting used to us trying to act like a normal football club too

Not sure I understand all this anxiety. Calm down, it's not FM, takes time to bring in the players the manager wants and is doubly hard since we aren't in Europe next season and everyone and their dog seems to have that as a requirement these days. Sam's done well so far but he's not finished yet the windows only been open a short time anyway. I'm looking forward to the new season and seeing the new-look team, and not signing anyone for a week hasn't really dampened that. I really think we can make top six this year and would be happy with that to start with. Then the bigger players may come.

probably missed those games through suspensions. good player when he's not going mental though, better than Carr. Would take him, and look to upgrade when(if) we get a higher finish next year.

That's pathetic. Wouldn't be surprised if they appeal and get it reduced to 1,600

Don't think we sold him, he wouldnt sign a new contract and we received a fee through tribunal due to his academy development.
