  1. You can hopefully teach Haidara to defend and be better positionally, but not sure how much you can teach Dummett, aside from playing to his strengths.
  2. Different league, marra. Being top of Serie A and winning games in the champions league can't compare to playing Cardiff, Palace and Stoke at home. No Jason Puncheon to deal with, no wonder the Italians live longer.
  3. Man, if we get El Tel or some other 90s dinosaur I shall strap myself into an armchair with eyelids taped open like Alex the Droog and watch as we embark on yet another comedy/horror roller coaster ride. This club... that'll be my punishment for all this unconditional love malarkey, this obsession.
  4. This has gotto stop. What is one game going to do ? Fucks sake, he's had chance after chance and our record speaks for itself. I hate wanting us to lose only for us to then have our players come up with a bit of "magick" to save his butt. He should have been sacked a long time ago and all this "next game" bollocks is just piss taking or naïveté from Ashley.

Can I just say that I cannot believe this cunt managed Toronto FC My hometown club. And the local fans hold him to a high regard! "One of the best coaches we've had, man!" I hear often. Cunt.

    Paul Dummett

I must say the amount of raw faith shown here by Ronaldo in Dummett is a breath of fresh air in the contrarian sense since Brett and Ian turned. You do you, Ron.

BTW, Ramage looked bloody good in one game in which he made his name It escapes me now whom it was against.

Didn't claim anything about his level, but in agreement with the tempering of expectations you mentioned earlier. I'll be happy with him as a backup for a more ball-playing fullback (or better CB). He could be the next Willo in the future, who knows. Certainly not writing him off. All I said was he's shown very, very little promise, as a first-choice fullback. I don't even remember how he did as a CB.

Don't gemme wrong, as I've said the following sentence over and over again on this board over eons, I hope he improves and it's not like I'm totally writing him off. I've now said the same sentence for the likes of Gosling, Obertan, Alan fucking Smith, Geremi, etc. I've been right surprisingly plenty of times It's more to do with the gashers we sign than anything else.

One could argue it's almost as if his age is giving him a pass even though he's shown very little promise. 50 shades of Peter Ramage.

Amazing how he comes out with those quotes after starting the season saying we're in a stronger position offensively than last, after letting HBA go. How the media don't hold him to these quotes is amazing. I guess Siem was our hope.

The manager doesn't half help himself (or his perceived "favourites") by coming out with retarded quotes like above.

Fair enough with the age, I do keep forgetting how young he is. I'd rather see the same support given to "Sadio" from our boss, I think that's where my issue with Dummett comes in. Our manager has constantly preferred his type of player, and this just continues the frustration -- unfortunately for Dummett, who's caught in the firing line.

Amazing attitude, without a shred of evidence. At this point in time, Simmo's had better games than Dummett. So, erm, no. I don't even think he has the potential to be better than Simmo.

As a backup and a doppelganger to Raylor and Simpson.

The amount of time this manager absolutely shits on our young / flair / creative / good-on-the-ball players is staggering. And then he has the nerve to play the academy card, about how hard it is for our youngsters to come through the academy... whose fault is that, you cunt? Who has regressed every young player we've had who's shown promise? Where the fuck is Bigi? Why was Gosling preferred in his place even when he was on his way out of the club and we kept losing all our games? FUCK YOU.

This is so so bad. So bad. I cannot believe this. So after analyzing the hell out of Silva and Dzeko, they both combined very easily, without leaving second gear or even trying, in the first fucking half, to get their opening goal.

Looked sharp and showed good control against Man City. I literally haven't seen any full games of ours since, so just have been going by people's reviews on here. What the hell happened? I guess he's never a lone striker. I can see him blossoming just behind Cisse.

Thing is, ask any fan in the country about their club's ownership and very few will be really happy - even those at clubs with mega rich owners spending crazy money are, in the main, not totally comfortable with it. Ours gets a lot of attention because he's a high profile retailer but other than him I'd struggle to name many, apart from the Glazers, Short and Gibson. Even the nutters at Hull, Cardiff and QPR's names escape me despite all the press they get. Our ownership is little more than symptomatic of what English football has become in the 21st century. We're certainly not unique. The manager issue is different. They do vary enormously. However for Saturday's protest to have failed so miserably, despite a year of poor results, last week's 4-0 hammering and being 2-0 down at home raises a lot of questions about how they went about it. It was a moment when they had everything going for them. My feeling is that Newcastle fans in the main are just sick of gimmicky protests and the embarrassment they cause. We've had poorly attended marches, mock funerals, open top buses, billboards etc. We've waved flags, banners etc and had more splinter protest groups than most could remember. It seems to achieve little more than bringing a few extra press vultures up from London for a weekend hoping to pile more ridicule on us. Backslapping each other about a well organised protest - which it obviously wasn't - and to have those who did want protest calling the 48,500 or so who didn't, "sheep", "cunts", "knackers" "idiots" or whatever is not really the way forward. Or maybe it is in their eyes ? What is needed is a sane, rational, non-gimmicky agenda which engages the majority of match attending supporters and the city in general. That or a practical, business savvy consortium like the original Magpie Group who would be taken seriously. Think the protest failed pretty much down to one thing. Sure, the Colloccini and others asking for backing and the stewards removing a proportion of flyers didn't help, also the mixed feelings of doing something that might affect the expression of support for Jonas and the team played a part. But I think the fact that it was suggested people do something at a specific time was a killer. People angry going into the ground felt thy needed to hold back before venting and it killed the mood. It's fine for a round of applause, but plenty were sitting on their hands waiting for a reaction at 5 minutes and when it was sporadic at best, like fuck were they going to hold up an A4 sheet and join in. Surely 5 minutes isn't that long? If you can't hold back for 5 minutes and are suddenly all fine and not angry anymore, you weren't angry enough to begin with.

Good point. Please keep him away from the wings. Please.

    Papiss Cissé

p*ss poor goals well - for every goal there is a mistake or more made. First goal not easy even though goalie should have covered that corner. 2nd - he is where he should be! can´t take anything away from him - this is goals scored by a striker with confidence.....where he found that i have no idea Did you read the rest of my post? I had nothing but praise for him. I only complained about the objective quality of goals, the first one especially won't be coming every week. But again, read the rest of my post, please.

    Papiss Cissé

First goal was shit, keeper should've easily stopped it at his near post. Great movement and positioning from Cisse though to receive that ball and make space for himself. He definitely looked sharp. Second goal also piss poor, long cross headed down by a free Gouffran and tapped in by a Cisse who moved away from his marker. However, exactly the kind of goals and positions he wasn't scoring and occupying last season. We finally have a striker on our hands again, from the looks of it. Why, Cisse, why? Bah.
