  1. Was reading the Guardian article on Simeone and man, what a stark contrast to fucking Pardew and his mentality. This is a club up against sovereign states, oligarchs and American tycoons and the team has the self belief they can beat anyone on the pitch. They rattled the fuck out of Barcelona in those opening 20 minutes, BARCELONA, by attacking the hell out of the game. Not by 'keeping it tight, waitin' for a bit of madjick..."
  2. I sit next to a Liverpool fan at work who just won't hear a single negative word about Pardew from me, and thinks I've been overreacting for the better part of 2 years about how much I fucking hate this fucking clown. The idea I get from him is that we are where we belong, he doesn't understand why Newcastle fans expect more. Are all fucking neutral fans this thick?
  3. Shepherd was absolutely terrible but he at least was as deluded as the fans in wanting success for the club. Even while lining his pockets with the club's funds, his heart as a fan was in the right place. I would NOT have him back, no way, but no way is he 'worse' than Ashley in terms of ambition.

Heartbreaking. I'm hoping the World Cup fever lasts long enough for me to forget the dread that fills me when I think about next season. Fuck.
  5. I'm not sure if he has a shot in him. For a striker, his gentle backpasses to the opposing keeper don't really get the fire in my loins going.

Ben Arfa What the fuck happened. Everything seemed possible in that game. For once, watching that team and those players in action, there seemed to be a bright future, and that was the time to bring everyone aboard the Ashley future. Too bad the cunt he hired showed himself to be the complete waste of an appointment everyone was afraid he'd be, and he made sure that was the last we see of that

We're reaching RTG levels of imagination now. "If Mourinho managed us, marra, Catts would become the natural leader he was born to be..."

Anal Oliver's aesthetic most matches my own, tbh.

A modern striker running with the ball from midfield and scoring on a regular basis. I mean, right now it seems like he's doing this simply because he hates the strikers he currently has on his books Can't say I agree with what you are saying. If you are telling me that's the job of the modern striker then I must've completely missed football over the last decade or so. Hazard, Oscar and Willian do couple of things better than others, and it's not that they do the job of a striker. All three players have an immense ability to put pressure and work up and down the pitch defensively a part from all being technically excellent players. In a team that lacks a prolific striker you'll always have midfielders who must score. That doesn't mean they do the job of their striker though, they're doing their job as midfielders and in Mourinho setup the job of his type of attacking midfielders, if he wanted a winger to operate as a striker I could see him starting Schurrle infront of Willian and Oscar, two players that don't score much but are vital to their system. Well you can be a pedant and hang on to the word 'striker' as if it only means a Sam Allardyce-Carlton-Cole kind carthorse, or you can see how little he's trusted his strikers this year and relied solely on his attacking midfielders to get the goals for him. Apologies for using the word 'striker' in this parlance, maybe I should've said 'main goalscorer.'

Are you on crack? Mourinho would f***ing love HBA, look what he's done with Hazard, Oscar, Schurle, etc., he loves making these attacking midfielders to do the job of a striker. Again, this kind of speculation is getting ridiculous, who Mourinho would play or not, as if you know his interior workings and can point to empirical data where he's frozen out a talent like HBA on a regular basis. I see Ben Arfa as more of a Robben or Mata, when it comes to getting up and down the pitch. Hazard, Schurrle and Willian are fantastic athletes and get up and down the pitch much more effectively. It wasn't meant to be a I see what you mean. And I agree about self belief. He'd probably make some of our players think they're unbeatable. Unlike our current incumbent who makes them think they've lost the game 0-4 already before kickoff.

Good points. I guess I feel the same way about Rehhagel's footballing style (it makes me want to go take a dump) as many here feel about Mourinho's.

Even to be considered among the top 20 is a great achievement. I'm not trying to make it out that he's the best that's ever lived or anything, but he's among the best. Agreed his footballing style is gash, but he's no fucking Otto Rehhagel that people on here seem to think.

    José Mourinho

The amount of vitriol here against Mourinho is unreal. Man's a fucking genius, is incredible at what he does, and his achievements speak for himself, and will go down in history as one of the greatest managers to have ever lived. Yes, he's a cunt 90% of the time, I feel mostly it's an act to protect his own players and instill a victimized belief system which makes them do anything he asks of them. And he makes his teams believe they can achieve anything, and more often than not, they actually do. Aside from Real, many of the players he's relied upon absolutely worship him, including Lampard, Eto'o, etc. His kind of attitude was never going to succeed at Real. For all of Liverpool's gesticulating about being a 'special club,' Real actually is one. And it's difficult for them to embrace fucking anyone, let alone an authoritarian figure who doesn't go out to thrash teams 10-0.
  19. I'm not so sure, we are looking at moving on 3+ French lads as Pardew cant make them work. No point in giving him more of them. What's the alternative? Giving him mediocre British talent to work with? Can't wait, I'm sure Catts and Bardsley fit Pards' profile. *puke*

Wonder what Pardew thought when Tevez and Masch saved West Ham from relegation and went on to become world stars as soon as he left. Clearly hasn't learned fuck all from that episode, and is not going to from this either. He's an arrogant prick like Souness and they are never wrong in their own eyes.

GTFI. If only that were true. Not quite true, unfortunately, if the story I've been given by one of my workmates who works matchdays in the "inner sanctum" areas is correct. He reckons there was a bust up between HBA and Pardew, leading to Ben Arfa being restrained in a headlock by Shola . He also says that the majority of players have no time for Ben Arfa. Could be shit, who knows, just throwing this into the ring. Same majority of players who suck ass. Talk about alienating our most creative talent because the culture of cloggers has taken over.
  22. I just realized you wrote it. Good stuff. It's going well so far with my morning coffee.
