  1. We need to find a bunch of "Bassong's," cheap unheralded players who can do a job/be our best player. Ironically the man/men who found Bassong have left the club now. I expect a lot of Championship based young players will be signed whether we stay up or not. Shearer's been said to make some changes in our scouting system but anyone really aware what kind of changes? Just whishing he hasn't stopped our recent youth based transfer policy...as that's the only way to go especially if we go down I think signing players that improve the first team is the best way to go regardless of whether we stay up or go down. That's not to say I don't want us continue signing youngsters as well btw.
  2. I also voted no, and agree.
  3. Match would last hours on end.

    Joey Barton

I'd be very surprised if he does, especially if Shearer stays. He'll be shipped out to someone like Birmingham. He'll get on well with Lee Bowyer.

Deserved to lose absolutely. The frustration with Barton being sent off (shouldn't have been a red imo, doesn't detract from the sheer fucking idiocy of the challenge though) is nothing to do with today, and entirely to do with the next three games. My frustrations with the legitimacy of the first two goals is just that, frustration. Didn't affect the outcome, it's just a salt in the wound thing. Shown today just how thick he is though, in case we'd forgotten. If he'd got away with that today, would he have learnt his lesson for the much more important upcoming games? I have my doubts, and whilst we could 'afford' to lose a man when already down and out at Anfield, we certainly can't afford it at 1-1 against Middlesbrough. Possibly right. I think Shearer would have given him the mother of all bollockings if he had got a yellow tbh. No saying whether it would have made any difference, I'd like to think it might have done. Irrelevant now
  6. Very good point conveniently overlooked by those calling him a legend tbh.

  8. I thought Lovenkrands did ok today, despite not being properly fit. Looked comfortable on the ball, didn't waste it and did very well to outmuscle the defender for his chance.

Agger had plenty of time to line one up too. Mental.
  10. He wasn't culpable for the defeat though. Duff was probably the least of our worries, it's the rusting, octogenarian midfield that we should be panicking about. I agree. Just thought it was a bit much for someone to state he's been brilliant at left back.

Similar, but I'd say I'm probably about a 7 or an 8. Think we've got more than a 10% chance of sticking around.
  12. Did well going forward today but very weak defensively I thought. As you might expect.
  13. Brought the ball out of def very well today as well. Class act. Going to be gutted to see him go.
  14. Clear foul on Beye (who was marking Kuyt) by Agger today as well.

I almost wish he was shit. The whole situation wouldn't be quite so frustrating then.

Good post. It isn't over 'til it's over. I can't really see where the goals and wins are coming from, but what I can do is drink quite a lot of beer and hope everything'll be ok. I think I might take advantage of that capability.
  17. To be fair, if we'd realised we're allowed to foul defenders when attacking at set plays we'd probably have scored more this season. Same goes for being offside. We were still fucking wank btw, just frustrating that it's made that much harder for us.
  18. "Famous Anfield atmosphere" granted I was only in the pub but the first time I really heard their fans was when JB got sent off.
  19. What was it that was making him laugh? Couldn't make it out in the pub.
  20. Aye, f***ing stupid rule. No idea why it's used, hopefully a salad-dodger Scot could clear it up? Tongue in cheek. I'm not a jock but it's to ensure less dead games I believe. If Celtic and Rangers had to play the teams in say 7th-9th in their last few games those teams would roll over and die, as they have nothing to play for. It's partly to make sure you don't end up with teams having two homes and only one away against each other. Can't play everyone twice home and away as they did when there were 10 teams.
  21. Don't worry, Mosley'll be along later to reel off every one, what minute it was and which ref gave it. Saved one at Arsenal off Bergkamp I think.
  22. I will never ever understand the hate for him tbh. Seems a nice enough lad, and the 'goldfish' comments didn't even come from him. btw he always talks positive about you lot. Wullie used to call him a despicable cunt even when he played for us tbf.
