City aren't even selling out now are they? Bellamy's their best player. Class act, just a bit unstable. Been brilliant this season, better for them than Robinho was last year or Tevez has been this.

Caring for the club is an interesting one but ultimately it's preferable in my opinion, certainly to the likes of Glazer etc. as you say. The fear is that the heart will rule the head, but if he's able to distance himself from interference with the manager his knowledge of the club and football itself (i.e. roughly what's required for success) can only be a good thing.

Milner will be in trouble when Downing gets fit that's for sure. Unless MON decides to play Downing through the middle alongside Petrov, which he might do I guess. More likely to play Milner in the middle tbh, he's tried it already. The other major possibility is a reversion to 4-5-1 with Ashley Young creating in the middle and Milner and Downing on the wings - if he had a better striker that could be a really good team. Carew is brilliant when fit. Gabby does fairly well as a lone striker too.

Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m

If the unpublished evidence was in any way, shape or form damaging to Keegan, what do you think the chances of Ashley et al releasing it to the press would be? A million, trillion per cent? Virtually nil, I'd say. What could he gain by carrying on the battle? You must be joking. He'd do absolutely anything he could to blame someone else. -
Crouch is a better player but I don't think he could do the job that Heskey does for England as well. He's not physically strong enough to hold the ball up in the way Emile does. Another very good option to have from the bench mind, he's a handy player.

Great tune. Back Home's a belter too.

I've heard about this kid; the hysterics and hype of it all amused me. Did you hear that rumour about what he did with his dog? Pretty rank, but very funny.

Massive lottery international tournaments. Nobody in their right mind would have predicted an Italy-France final last time, it's pretty much just about who clicks in the tournament provided you're at a decent level. Even the likes of Argentina, currently struggling big time, will have a decent shot at it if they get through. They've got the players, they just need to click.

Are you still trying to get digs in at Keegan? Dear me. For the 574757489th time, Keegan is a man of honour and principle - he COULD quite easily have said NOTHING and reamined at the club and seen his contract out which in total was worth £13 million. How anyone can seemingly support the lying shithouses who have dragged our club through the dirt is bryond me. FYI, people seriously need to stop the whole 'supporting Ashley' thing. Just because someone has something against Keegan, doesn't mean they're on Ashley's side. But then again, anyone who says anything negative about the great Kevin Keegan is obviously the anti-christ! bobyule does support Ashley over KK tbf. -
Lee Stewart? Aye The fatty. He happens to have moved to North Wales now, good riddons I guess. What was he like playing with/against? I here he's a good keeper?

I'd say most people are only cautiously optimistic at best actually. The last two world cups reams of people were predicting victory, we've been burnt now though. In reality we're a very good team at the moment with an exceptional manager, but I certainly wouldn't have us as anything much more than about a 1 in 8 shot to actually win the world cup.

Rooney is England's best player, and the side is rightly specifically tailored to get the best out of him, and the two next best attacking players, Gerrard and Lampard. I can't understand why some people are so keen to have Jermaine fucking Defoe starting they'll sacrifice this new found cohesion.
-
f***ing hell. Heskey. Decent to lineup in particular games, but overall he wouldn't be in my first eleven. He just doesn't add as much to the game from what I've seen. Plus he doesn't score enough goals, if we're going to have Rooney in the team, I reckon we need an out-and-out goalscorer. You're kidding me. Heskey in the team makes Rooney much more of an out and out goalscorer, remind me who the top scorer in European qualifying is? He also frees up Gerrard and Lampard by holding up the ball, something that Defoe can't do and Rooney is wasted doing. Which team are the top goalscorers in European qualifying again? Heskey is absolutely essential to our Plan A. Defoe is a very good Plan B, nothing more.
-
Defoe is fine as a sub but I've already been on a rant about how important Heskey is. I can't understand how people still can't see it. On another note, I don't think Defoe has done anything more than Bent has to be included.
-
Added the bit in bold. That's the key. If it was that easy everyone would do it.
-
Actually, good idea. We'll abandon the brilliant system that's worked perfectly throughout qualification, getting the best out of our previously underperforming big players and implement a new one now. Genius.

Yeah, I reckon Lennon >> SWP at the moment, and I think Green deserves to keep his place for the moment. Walcott's the interesting one, Capello won't have forgotten that hat-trick and playing at Arsenal he'll be suited to the crisp passing of international football. He'll be in the squad for sure, and can provide cover up front, but for the time being Lennon's in too good form to be left out imo. Green gets it by default for me.
-
Only two places up for grabs in the England team for me are RW and keeper. Personally I'd have Lennon and Green at this moment in time. The rest picks itself, and has been what Capello has been picking for every game that counts.
-
Equally he put a system in place and jumped before it went to fuck. Could well have been his fault, we'll just never know.
-
I always thought Lampard got far too much grief for his England performances. Gerrard on the other hand possibly got off too lightly, some of his performances pre-Capello were woeful. Especially his cowardly and gutless performance as captain away in Moscow. He should never wear the captain's armband for England again (if the opportunity arose) after that night. Don't remember that one, but his performance at Wembley against Croatia under Mclaren was an utter abomination, embarassing. Seems to be revelling under Capello now he has more freedom to roam in from the left, he looked quality against Croatia.

The tribunal have delivered their verdict/report; there's not going to be any more. Just because nobody is demanding answers they'll never get doesn't mean no-one is bothered. Yup. I'd love to know the details of all the transfers that happened (and some that didn't) in KK's tenure but there's not a chance we'll find out. Unless he brings out a book -

Chez "The case has restored his credibility and reputation, so ultimately he didnt really need to sue for lifetime earnings. " Whilst I agree this should be the case it essentially hasn't. In the eyes of people who've looked into it he's vindicated - in the eyes of the vast majority of football fans who'll believe any much they read he's a money grabbing bottler, and I can't see him ever getting employed at a club if the fans really have that view of him. It's a tricky one. -
What is 'well-run', though? Do we want to be financially prudent in the West Brom sense where lack of investment usually results in a return to the Championship? They're often applauded for their caution, but ultimately, as a result, they'll never be a secure PL side. It's a balancing act. However, it seems Moat is the only way out for us, so it's not like there are other options available to us. If West Brom had the fanbase, revenue and 'pull' that we will have upon (hopefully) returning to the prem they'd be a lot better off though, and could probably look in invest enough that they'd stay up. But, as you say, it's very tough to do. There needs to be prudence at some level but there also needs to be an appetite for risk to incorporate ambition and the ability to establish in the top league. The longer you're in that league the easier it gets with each successive season mind.

e.g.? Avram Grant? Good manager imo, but is he really proven? I know he's done more than Shearer before you start, not sure he's got any experience of getting sides up and establishing them on (probably) tight budgets. Also doubt he'd come, but not necessarily a joke like MJ or Hiddink.
