Taking a few family members pre-GNR, might go for the Leazes corner to save a few pennies and get a bit more atmosphere. The only home game we haven't been on the telly for so far this season we got well in excess of 40k, would be good to see the same again for Plymouth.

Presumably you mean an accumalator on all three to go down? You should be able to add the win singles on the three clubs of your choice to get relegated into your 'betting basket' and then select an accumulator as the bet type. Won't work on betfair but should be fine on the likes of skybet. If you can't work it out just ring the company and they'll sort it for you, shouldn't be a problem.

£15 for the Plymouth game according to .com. Cracking deal.

I read an analysis on the PL (think it was Finkinstein in the Times 3 or 4 years back) which claimed that 38 games, in context, wasn't a big enough sample size to adequately differentiate between the teams and that, therefore, the best team didn't always win the league. Can't remember the exact conditions he applied mind so it could have been bollocks.

Even so, I still reckon I'll enjoy this season more than last. We've got 7 games in 20 days coming up I think, there's no way we'll maintain this run with our pathetic squad size.

Yeh it was what people were saying not neccesarily myself. But when you people were saying whos in boltons, fulhams, Hull, sunderland, blackburn, stoke, birmingham, burnley, I said about 8th Week in, week out the midfield was noticably the weak link in a relegated side. I don't see how you can possibly explain how it's the 8th best in the premiership now.
-
Given that we had the worst midfield in the Premiership last season, and this was the main reason we went down, I think I'd find it hard to argue we now have the 7th best in the country.

This league just seems a bit more....fun. I don't think it's just that we're winning (so far) - it just seems a little bit less serious than the premiership. The banter seems more light hearted and enjoyable and the players seem more interested (than last season anyway). I'm enjoying going into games hoping for a positive result as opposed to fearing a negative result, it's a change in mindset that hasn't just been altered by the likelihood of victory. I also reckon the away fans will be better this season than last. I was going to make a thread about this, but it's not really worth it. I reckon the majority of teams will have looked for the fixture at SJP as soon as the lists came out, and I'm sure every team in the league will bring better followings than the likes of Pompey, Blackburn and Wigan managed last season. Loving this season so far.

A season eh, the local lads don't even get a day. Smith, Nolan, Taylor, Duff have all been branded s**** since the day they signed whereas no matter which mediocre foreigner we sign from a mediocre club they're class and have their own little fanclub. Taylor in particular has been given loads of slack I reckon. And none of the others are local lads. Shola, on the other hand, has been given no slack at all.

Yeah, Bassong really got some stick from the crowd didn't he. Same with Hugo Viana who had the fans singing his name before anyone even knew if he was any good or not. The likes of Domi, Dabizas, Distin, Hottiger, Jonas and Acuna got dead rough rides too. As for the treatment of Nobby Solano when he arrived, just appauling. Unknown foreigners don't get stick, people who don't put a shift in or are horrendously overpriced get stick. I'd wager that the vast, vast majority of fans (myself included) knew little to nothing about those players before they arrived and they were all well appreciated whilst here.

After admitting that I can't see him ever playing for us again, which presumably means we'll have to make even more of a loss on him than we would have done.

Finally got round to putting some season bets on, just a quid on the acc and trebles for Chelsea, Us, Leeds and Notts County to win our leagues. Think it returns about £190 if they all come in.

Snap him. Only ever heard that in relation to football.

those odds are brilliant Good old betfair.

Don't rate Almunia any higher than I do Green. Both average. Yep they are all average. None of them could complain if one of the others were first choice. Yep. I'd probably go with Green at the moment even though he's less likely to produce some moments of brilliance than James, Kirkland, Foster etc., I also get the feeling he's less likely to cock up. Tough choice though.

£2 Fat Frank to score 1st @ 8/1

Good when he played a full season. Needs games.

Best left back in the world.

Robinson would be my last choice. Don't think he's got the mental game, getting out of the spotlight a bit at Blackburn has helped him a lot imo.
-
Think I agree. Thought he was shit about 12 months ago.
-
Wouldn't he be better off using a bigger bus?
-
Saves having to go to the pub too.
-
Who would you have in? Tough question imo.
