  1. It used to be, in a Manchester derby, that I'd want City to win just because I hated Man U so much. Now it's the other way around.
  2. I fucking hate that poncey pastel blue, tbh.
  3. Balotelli -- c*** De Jong -- c*** Given -- Judas Barry -- t*** Milner -- meh Mancini -- all the money you want for the best players in the world, and set up with three holding midfielders. Do me a f***ing favour! Fans -- Manc mackems who won the lottery History -- High-points were "Big Mal" and Francis Lee. 'Nuff said. I like Tevez. That's about it. Depressing otherwise watching these t***s walk it against West Brom without ever once looking like they actually give a f***.
  4. Guardian reckon he's a Christian Vieri in the making: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/nov/08/five-things-premier-league-this-weekend

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Six goals against the mackems! At least!!
  6. As long as people want to read this shit, they'll keep on printing it.
  7. If we're going to wear traditional hats of any kind, they should be proper geordie flatcaps.
  8. Carroll seems to thrive on stuff like this though. Then clearly the media all sat around in the room and someone said, "What can we do to help give the Geordies an edge?"
  9. Yeah, the media all sit around in a room and someone goes, "Right, the Geordies are playing a London team tomorrow so how can we put them off?" And the News of the World goes, "Hey, I've got an idea!"
  10. It'll be a story now, though, and it'll keeping getting brought up as part of a wider "club in turmoil" kind of narrative. I know they've done nowt particularly wrong, but I wish they had the sense to keep themselves out of the papers.
  11. Just watched the highlights for one last time before filing them away. It's still a joy to watch, from the first goal and its celebration, to the sarcastic cheer when they finally put one in. Carroll on the charge, Ameobi's smile, Barton's balls into the box, Nolan kissing the camera, Bumble getting sent off, mackems traipsing out of the stands -- one heartwarming moment after another. OK, time to move on.
  12. I can imagine this £30,000 state-of-the-art scoreboard, which seems to be the main thing Rich is providing, as a total white elephant in a couple of seasons' time. He has plans to flog there merchandise in America apparently which is set to make them a small fortune. So small you'll need a microscope.
  13. The club show now release a three-minute highlights video cut to Daydream Believer.
  14. Managers whose names sound like their clubs: Mancini of Man City Arsène of Arsenal Wolfgang Wolf of Wolfsburg (my favourite, although he is no longer in this job) Are there any more?

  16. When did we play Cardiff in the cup while Ashley was owner? I'm pretty sure we did, unless I'm going mental. How do I find out these things? I thought you were talking about the semi final against Man U at the Millennium Stadium until you mentioned Ashley. I don't think we've ever faced Cardiff in the cup in recent times. Hmm, I would say it was in the Championship then, but I know that's not the case as obviously Ashley was hated by then and Michael Owen was playing. Have to get the ticket out when I get home. Obviously a really memorable game!
  17. If we're not just talking Newcastle games, watching England beat Germany 5–1 in Munich was pretty special.
  18. You burn a 40-foot effigy of Wayne Rooney every year?
  19. Kent's exactly the sort of place you find loads of Man U fans. Probably loads of Liverpool fans, too. There are no league teams in Kent except Gillingham, who have always been crap. Charlton the nearest team of any consequence, and their history isn't that inspiring either. Having said that, there only seems to be one Man U fan involved in the forthcoming Rooney conflagration.
  20. If he was that professional he wouldn't be blabbing his mouth off. That said, I half wondered Sunday when I saw them (Ashley and Llambias) laughing in the stands if they were chuckling about the betting scam they're about to pull off. Given Llambias's history with casinos and Ashley's gambling rep you could almost imagine them colluding to such a degree. They'd have to make absolute millions though to make it worthwhile and I can't see how they'd do that.... so More likely they were just planning another hokey-cokey.

  22. Cheers. And I was serious, I didn't know that. I've never seen anyone wearing a poppy in my country so I was asking myself this. In the UK, if you're any kind of public figure, you simply have to wear one around this time of year. If you don't, people may slag you off for being unpatriotic, dissing the people who died for their country, being a heartless communist twat etc. If the Sun or Daily Mail is looking for a reason to lay into you, for example, this will be their opportunity. Naturally you do not wear them in Germany. Last weekend, I went to look at the British World War I cemetery outside Berlin. (Surprisingly, there is one.) There were no poppies in view, but many red roses.
  23. Why carry on moaning about it while things are going well?
