Peace on earth, good will to all.

When I was a nipper, Denis Law.

Really off the beaten track, there was a great sparky midfielder at Vasas in Budapest called Zoltán Váci, and I used to like a guy called Oceano at Sporting.
-
I liked Thomas Hässler, too.

I've been thinking about this issue recently on the level of what happens if the club are expecting either to move on our highest earners or attempt to get them to sign for lower wages. If it's the former, then they'll just let the contract run down. And if they're aiming to do the latter, there's not much point renegotiating before then anyway. If any player is going to accept lower wages, they're certainly not going to do so two years before the more lucrative contract runs out.

Too many to mention but I'd like too think we are an established club now under the guidance of Quinn and Short. it must be 5 or 6 or maybe more. I just can not fathom how posters on smb can call Newcastle after 1 relegation in 20 years a yoyo club when Safc have had 5 or 6 times as many relegations- im not sure any other club has been in and out the prem more? Boro, maybe.

Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.

Cheque-book manager like him would be a disaster under Ashley. -
I think I got mixed up between Manc beatings, the game he got took off for a rest was the 6-2 thrashing at SJP when Scholes got 3 on the day Dyer had said he was going to replace Scholes in the England squad. That game was the beginning of our long decline.
-
Used to hate him, now kind of like him. Undoubtedly one of the greats.

Yeah, genius idea. Instead of some people having to turn around and go home, everyone should have to turn around and go home.
-
I keep reading "buyout" as "boycoutt".
-
I think they should put Wor Jackie back on Northumberland Street.

This time jamming up the Channel Tunnel.

The worrying thing is he's really into his stats, like the owners its a match made in heaven then again his ego after being made liverpool boss would be insufferable That might be our saving grace. Once appointed, his head would swell to galactic proportions, and he'd be forced to quit because his bloated, empty head wouldn't fit through the door. At that point his head would detach from his body and go on to lead a charmed life amongst the common folk of Liverpoolland. Could be a new Viz character, like. Fat Sam's Heed. In the first episode, Fat Sam's Heed tries to go to Birkenhead, but gets jammed in the mouth of the Mersey Tunnel. Traffic chaos in Scouseland until Fat Sam's Heed is freed.
-
So they're basically going to become us from three years ago, sack Big Sam with no real clue of who to replace him with, go for the crazy headline choice and watch the car crash happen 6 months down the line. Yeah, brilliant.

You would be correct sir. That is my ire with people saying ashley inherited a mess from shepherd, he did and then promptly made it even worse. Tbf to Ashley though he was under the influnce of Sheps last move the Allardyce. Not wanting to get NE5 about it but we DID NOT go into administration but we DID get relegated. Lets deal in what has happened rather would could but never did. I blame fat sam hippodyce as much as Ashley for those signing in the first bit of the Ashley era. Viduka, geremi, Smith etc all on mad wages... I remember Sam putting the newly arrived Ashley under considerable pressure in the press -- "He doesn't understand, we have to spend quickly -- now! -- while there are still some players left to buy!" It was a double mugging. First Hall and Sheps and then waiting round the corner to catch a grogy Ashley was Jabba.

Of the £17 million in ex-manager payments discussed in the blog, only £5.3 million of it went to an Ashley appointee. Of course, you could argue that Ashley should not have sacked Fat Sam...

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
OzzieMandias replied to Pilko's topic in Football
In open play he's the best header of the ball i've ever seen, but Carroll is almost there. Gary Speed was outstanding in the air too. Tino. -
What about all the profit he's made from transfers.
