  1. £60m is fine, if it comes with a player.

It's more about the squad playing every 3 or 4 days for a while then fatigue and injuries start creeping in.

Since the weekend I've read in this thread that they're going to kick on and do very well next year, we're more likely to go down than they are and now theyll also get to the EL semi finals. I think people are massively overrating them. Let's see if their better players stay and how they manage the extra games and travelling first.
  4. That's the type of signing we could have thrown money at had they got promoted.
  5. They'll be punished financially and with points. I can't see them being stripped although they deserve it. If they do get stripped it opens a whole world of pain for the PL. What about teams who finished 5th and missed CL football? What about teams who finished 18th?
  6. Honestly the rebuild is massive, it's basically in every area of the team. We either need a new first 11 player or a decent back up for every position. Up front, Gordon and Murphy probably leave. Wissa and Elanga are awful if we're being honest and I'm not sure Howe knows what to do with Wolt. The whole thing is a disaster and needs sorting asap or we'll struggle to put teams away next year. The defence has been really weak but at the same time if we were better up front teams wouldn't be within a goal of us or drawing in the closing stages. You need strong forwards to take pressure off of the defence.
  7. Our forward line needs a rebuild if he has any chance next year. It's absolutely piss poor at the minute. Nearly 200m invested into it last summer too.

A lot of people had Sunderland rock bottom with their predictions last summer. I bet you no one had West Ham in there. Fuck me Spurs nearly went down. We've no idea how the season will play out, nothings guaranteed.

They'll just conveniently ignore us being in the Champions League twice in the last 3 years. Remember Shola Ameobi has more appearances in Europe than their club.

2/1 to go down next season for a reason but people think they'll kick on. Funny old game. Let's see what happens.
  11. Id take him back here.

It doesn't always go that way. We got Champions League last season and 12 months later we're a lot worse off as a team.

The second season up is notoriously difficult for teams, most of them don't have to deal with midweek European games too. I'm not saying they'll go down but they'll certainly find it difficult to balance Europe and the PL, especially if they lose players.
  14. It isn't about the game today, it's the fact that the season ended and the post mortem starts.

Start handing out big wages now they have Europa League will they? How did that work out for us with Champions League? Their better players will be targeted in the summer and they'll struggle with the mid week games while trying to stay up.

No it isn't. Not even close.
  17. A lot of us, myself included, thought it would be better at one game a week but it's been fucking dog shit.

You have to hold your hands up and say fair play to them. Not too many, certainly in this day and age, come up and get into Europe at the first shout. Blame our players and coaching staff for them beating us twice and finishing 5 points ahead of us. They've players who want to fight for their club and we've far too many spineless cunts in our squad.
  19. I enjoyed Bilbao at home because I finally got to go to a CL game at SJP. Outside of that. Utter shit. 2. Lost all faith in the squad and coaching staff, a massive fall from grace after last season.

    Yoane Wissa

Worst signing we've ever made because of the fee. No question about it.
  21. Struggling with him now tbh but if he stayed it wouldn't annoy me because I'm willing to see if he can turn it around. 17 defeats is seriously hard to stomach though.
  22. It really is amazing that after everything we've achieved in recent years how much deadwood is in this team. The rebuild job is almost on par with the first summer we had with the new ownership.
  23. Never seen a man more dead behind the eyes than Ronaldo lifting that title for Al Nassr. It reminds me of the scenario you'd hear about would you take back shots from *insert random person* for 100k a stroke. You'd say yeah but eventually the money wouldn't matter and you'd just wish you were dead.
