If i was a manager i would love the challenge that Newcastle Utd could give. The club has enormous potential and a great stadium and great support from fans, well i am a Newcastle fan also but even if i wasn't i would be attracted to that position. Almost every manager with some knowledge knows about Newcastle and it's fans and history and constant failure during these recent years. If i was a top class manager i would rather take part in a club that has long way to go and has lots of potential than taking charge of a team that already is where it's supposed to be, well nearly anyway.. Some say that it is 110% sure that we WONT get Hiddink. But if FFS even tried to attract a manager like GS and made a good presentation about the club, what it has and what it can become and where the club wants to be and shows the ambition for the future. IF FFS even tried that and did that in the correct way then im sure GS or someone like him would find it interesting at least. Knowing how s*** the team has been and how good it can become with the right appointment of manager and it's potential. I bet that most managers know how we have underachieved since Bobby left. We have some good players on the paper. What we need is more good players and a genious of a manager who can get the best out of those players we already have in our team and also fix the weak links in the team and squad. Someone with experience and a proven record, with tactical and man management skills all that what is needed. Im almost sure that with Roeder or anyone else who's simply not good enough we will only see a small improvement in the future and continue wit our rolercoaster style that we have been in foer the last few years. And money will be spent and after a few years we are back to Zero again trying to get a new manager who wants his "own team" I say: Start from scratch after this season with a new manager and hope for a brighter future. Or it's going to be average season after season almost certainly, and more money spent without going forward enough, and the club will loose even more money and we fans will continue and suffer in this mediocrity that we are in seeing now. We need to start from the beginning and go on from there.. But this will not be done with a manager who simply isn't good enough. And im sure IF the club even tried im confident that we could find a manager good enough for our club.. FFS I MEANT GH hehehe

hehe so was i so i had to make a new topic. No but seriously i have been thinking about the defense for quite long (i guess im not the only one). I have been thinking around what might be a good partner for him and what left back to aim for. Because i have always felt that Taylor has potential to be a great defender someday, It might happen it might not.

I have been quite impressed with him lately What would be needed for him to reach yet another level? Hopefully we can get the signings right for next season and especially get a quality CB to partner him and a quality LB. That would be a great help for him reaching a even higher level. What kind of CB would you like to see play next to Taylor next season? I believe that someone "like" Toure at arsenal could be a good partner. Discuss...

I dont know if we will, but if we will i hope the larger amount of our transfer kitty will be invested in our defense...

If we make the new signings for the defense right im much more positive than i have been before. Getting those 2-3 players for the defense right will improve our team very much. That would make the hole midfield better, well the hole team of course.....

I would MUCH rather take Viduka and spend the money we have for the summer on other positions. Quality players in defense would improve our team ALOT more than going for a expensive striker instead of Viduka who on a free would be a great deal for our club at the moment when you look at the situation we are in. Have to look at what's best for the team. Yes i would rather have someone younger playe as a striker for now and the future instead of Viduka. But that money is a better investment in other positions. I PROMISE that if we sign Viduka on a free and put the 5-10m a younger striker would cost (with quality) for extra quality in defense on top of what we have in our transfer kitty it will for sure result in us finishing higher in the league table.

Kluivert when he still was hungry would of been a perfect partner for Owen/Martins. And im not making any conclusions yet, but i REALLY find it hard to see it work with Owen and Martins upfront. We simply are not good enough at keeping posession and playing flowing football, not at this moment anyway, and probably not next either.

How is Heinze realistic? - He doesnt get a game for Manu. - Probably pissed that Evra (who is average) automaticly is 1. choise. And heinze never did anything wrong. - Wants to be a regular and a key player for a team. - Knows he'll be appreciated by the fans. - If Man U get Bale, he might (MIGHT) end up as 3. choise LB - As Y-G said, he'll be available for a few million, as Man u dont want him. Evra average? kidding me?? He didn't have a good start but has been playing really well lately (before he got injured)

Would love him here, strong as hell and has one hell of a left foot. Strong with his head inside the penalty area. But not going to happen though =( but interesting idea..

I just hope that we dont try a gameplan that we cant play. We will get punished if we sit back too much of the game. Let them worry about us, We dont have the players or are organised enough to play deep and sit back too much of the game.. We will almost for sure have to score a goal or two to advance, thats what i believe anyway..

Is he really that good? I have not seen much of him myself. But is he value for money if you look at how much he would cost?

I would also look abroad for players.

Warnock went for something like 1.5 mil to Blackburn in January. He would have been a good buy IMO. Reasonably priced, experienced in England. I'm not sure if I agree about looking abroad. Young players like Bale will go for ridiculous money, but there are other options. Nicky Shorey has performed very well this year and would go for a lot less because he isn't in his teens. I'd rather have someone proven in the league. Even fullbacks that are rather decent/average by Premiership standards (Bocanegra, Lauren, Nicky Hunt) would be a vast improvement on playing someone past it like Carr or Academy centre-halves. We don't need world beaters, just Premiership capable defenders. We wont get any "world beaters" But i would rather go for real quality than buy one of those that you mentioned and after a season or two going for a new player again. I say sign players for now and for the future.. Instead of going for players that "just is better than what we have atm" If we dont go for players that will improve our team alot for now and in the future we will just have to live with being a loooooong way from the top four

I have been thinking about fullbacks for quite a long time now, Does anyone have any fullbacks for NUFC in mind? I feel that Solano should be playing there att RB next season and invest that money elsewhere instead as i think he can do a more than a good job in that position as he has done so far this season. I feel that we should look abroad and see if we can find a quality player that isn't too overpriced like some brittish players.

Great crosser?? OK he has made some great crosses, But how many of his crosses hasn't been piss poor?

The thing with Martins is that he can show great technique and sometimes his touches look very poor. But he still scores goals He will only get even better with time..is it 16 goals so far? thats quite amazing when it's his first season with Newcastle and that the team hasn't been doing that well for the most of the season..

Good age and out the first team picture according to some friends here in Sweden who support Bayern. Is good in the air and has some skill. Could go quite cheap. Has experience. He did well before his injury last year (his knee i think it was). He was on his way of getting his real breakthrough i can remember from what i've read at different sports sites on the web. Would complement both Owen and Martins really well.
