Barnes isn’t what we need. He is limited as a player. He’s not really gonna be much help for us with creativity or playing against teams defending more deeply. Massive no from me. Good player but not what we need imo.

Moussa Diaby would be good against the better teams and when we are in transition. I prefer a technical creative flair type of player with decent pace. One that can be really effective against teams that sit back as well as against the better teams. We will have to evolve to progress even further. Have more versatility as a team in general. Diaby is good but I don’t think he is the one for us. He would also cost a bomb.

I agree and i've felt the same. But even our players go down very easily at times. Bruno does it, others have done so in the penalty area too.

I like how the tune changes for fans either way Comparing now when he's going to Spurs with if he had signed for us. All i'm saying is that he's a very high quality player that most likely will do well and probably would have done so for us too. Whether we wanted him or not, or if he prefered another destination is an entirely different matter. I'm not too bothered and i'm sure we will sign someone very good anyway, but let's not kid ourselves that he is less than very good. Similar in a way to McTominay, some people thought we wanted him and despite us not having even signed him they kind of started defending it in every way possible, trying to convince themselves (sort of) that THIS is the way to go and in the club we trust. He isn't even half the player JM is. I'm saying some people, not everyone. I assume it's kind of natural in a way too, atleast to some degree.

People (some) forget how knackered Tripps looked in a few games. Soon we will play even more games. Never mind how vital that right hand side has been in our play too.

Remember being impressed with him the few times I’ve seen Southampton play. Didn’t know he was English. Also plays in a slightly exotic way like his name.

Seen quite a few videos of Tonali but I think this one is my favourite of him doing various things. I think and hope that he will be used as box to box as I reckon that’s his best role. Like the idea that he can drop deeper at times too to alternate with Bruno. Think he’s best to the right/left of a midfield three. Alternatively in a double pivot with freedom to roam forward. No matter what, I like that he is very all round and versatile and can play various roles.
