No it isn’t It’s being smart and making good long term investments. Also, we are not City. Look at the players we have signed so far for big money. Bruno, Isak, Botman and soon Tonali. That’s players with plenty of years ahead of them as well as being high quality but yet to reach their potential ceiling. We haven’t even been linked (seriously) to many +26 players. I like the way we are doing it. Players with plenty of years ahead of them plus very young players than can come in within a few years. Having the young talent coming through before our “stars” get too old is shrewd business. We obviously will continue to sign players for “now” too going forward. But too many expensive “old” ones would mean we have to replace them for big bucks even earlier. Having said all the above I would not be against JM. I just don’t see us going that route unless for less money than they want.

JM is good but I’m thinking that for the money they want we reckon that he is on the wrong side of 25. Welcome Szob!

The thought of Szoboszlai with Bruno and Tonali…. 3 players with fantastic ability to make key passes and everything else on top of that. Good physicality combined with technical ability and the right mentality and leadership. Hope we get him too.

He isn't unknown in any way to me though. But i like the fact when there is a signing done that everyone doesn't know about. That instead of going the safe way. There's a risk but i love when that comes out as a "steal" if X-player performs even better than expected. DS would cost a bomb but im pretty confident that he would be a success and after a while we'll think that the money he cost was a very good investment for 10+ years here or wherever.

Don't be an idiot making things up in your own head about what i think. I named many reasons as to why i wanted him. Foreign and being a fucking pineapple wasn't one of them.

I personally prefer Szoboszlai because he is much younger, more athletic and physical. jM is obviously proven in this league and probably a safer bet, but I’m certain that DS is too talented to not succeed and probably has a higher ceiling potentially. Plus I want us to bring in “our own” stars instead of buying ready made proven PL players. Not that DS is unknown really but there’s a nice feeling when you sign a player like Bruno for example who comes in and grows with the club and others are like “where did they find this guy, or get him”. The more unknown is sometimes more exciting somehow. I would be very happy with Maddison too, no doubt. I think DS is our number one priority though.
