Coincidence that this comes out as soon as we have secured CL? Perhaps it's more money than the 25m/season that was mentioned a while back. Here's hoping that the deal agreed back then had some clauses regarding change of of the deal if we ereach CL. I have no clue about these things

Anyone seen much of Carlos Augusto? Seems to be produce impressive numbers offensively at least. Contract expires in 2024 i think. Could be available for 15-20m. I know we have been linked. I like Tierney but i don't like the feeling i have that he will struggle for fitness. To have a good season we need our key starting players to stay fit most of the season. You can talk all you want about the medical team will know better and blah blah. Not in every single case, but injury prone players just don't become super human all of a sudden. Makes you wonder why/if Arsenal let him go relatively cheaply. There could be other reasons too, like private ones as in him wanting to move more up north or whatever.

I obviously wouldn’t mind pacy players out wide, but I also don’t think it should come at the cost of flair/creativity/technical ability. The better we become the more the opposition will look to kill space. Of course it’s necessary to be quick in transitions and all that too but I can see us changing our style slightly when it comes to getting new players in, especially for some areas. There has been talk about the likes of Diaby, Harvey Barnes and so on. Personally I don’t see these players being very effective against a low block. We are very unlikely to be in transition from defence to attack quite as often in the future as we get better within time so I can see us change. Teams like Leicester, Leverkusen and so on are never going to play even close to the same way like say City (extreme example). We should have won the game last night no matter what, but I’m pretty sure a couple of flair players would have helped immensely. And a different kind of LB even if Burn did well.

Really difficult for us to say who we would like and wouldn’t and for what amount of money as we have absolutely no clue. It could be anything from 150-300m. 150-200m would be my guess based on fuck all really. It’s fun nonetheless. I genuinely think we can forget the likes of Rice or players of around 100M and the type of wages a player like this would demand. It’s too early. I’m sure we could afford it but it would be at the cost of lacking in other areas. Need to find the right balance between top quality/price/potential. Not easy.

Especially without a pacey FB overlapping and helping to create space and options.

Im not counting Isak as a wide player at all even if he can play there. He should be central. Also if Wilson is injured we cannot even consider him out wide at this moment. ASM isn’t reliable fitness wise either. I would go for someone top class and for example Arda Guler. Then get rid of what needs to be done. Could even allow him to stay on loan at FB for a season. AG can play centrally too. If there is a chance to snap him up for a decent fee then it MUST be done, or at least do all we can to get him in. I just don’t see how someone like AG wouldn’t have a role to play.

Get som real genuine top quality players and top it off with youngsters that can play a role similar to Arda Guler/Franca/Baturina amongst others, players with talent for now but a massive ceiling potentially. Personally I’m not interested in decent players that are playing next to their highest level.
