Most annoying highlight video ever on YouTube now. Foul after foul and shitty replays -
Cheers mate. Sounds very good ?

If this was a reply to my post let me explain. When I was comparing to some promoted sides doing well over a season I didn’t mean that they were beating most teams apart from the top teams over half a season. My comparison was about sustainability. When something major happens and things get really positive for whatever reasons then it can go really well for a while when riding on that happy wave. As just after a promotion, new manager, new owners and similar things tend to give that extra 20% in every way and even better once you get a bit of momentum. However, most times that isn’t sustainable, especially if you lack that extra quality. People talk about us having top 4 form for the second half of the season, so now by the sounds of it some seem to perhaps aim a little bit too high because of this. It’s good that there’s ambition and belief but sometimes without perspective it can easily blind you too. With us it was EVERYTHING that changed for the better. Owners, manager, belief within every area, fans going mental. Simply put a massive positive wave that we could ride. I’m sure we still can have a positive ride and momentum, but I’m not sure we will have quite the same as the second half of last season. Therefore I think we need to strengthen more than some seem to think. Sorry for the long post and me going off limit. It was just gonna be an explanation to your post about promoted sides and that if it was intended as a reply to mine

Shelvey has never been a regular in a top 7-8 side. Mostly been on a level much below. Yet so many people seem happy to have him in and around the 1st team. Because when considering how thin our midfield area is when it comes to quality then he will be playing many games this season. Too many unfortunately. We ain’t getting anywhere with players like him and Longstaff or Willock playing far too many games for us this season. Don’t be foolish saying that a few of these played during our good run. It’s not sustainable. How many times haven’t we seen teams come up from the Championship and ride on a positive wave and do extremely well in their first season only to then break apart more or less the next season. Take away Bruno and we don’t even have a midtable midfield.
-
Need to strengthen our midfield first for that to happen. Never mind if we get injuries or suspensions. One top quality RW and CM to add to our best eleven then yeah we would look much better. If we are aiming relatively high then it’s a bit naive to go into the season with only Bruno more or less. Joelinton too arguably, but then we would need someone else to pull the strings. Shelvey and Willock and Longstaff won’t do it. Shelvey at times but no, not on the whole. There’s a reason he goes too deep so often. Because he needs too much time on the ball. He also cannot get out of right situations under pressure very well. I know he did pretty decent last season but you’re naive if you think he’s good enough overall. Backup at best.

Get Gouiri and Paqueta and CHO on loan and we will have options up front. Would cost a coin or two but boy would it be good.

I have most certainly not had this crush in a long time for a player that I have for Bruno. HBA was the last one but I already think that Bruno edges it. What a player and personality. I’m almost looking forward to seeing him more than I am the team. Not literally but you get the idea -
Owners even have said that they usually wouldn’t like to do business in January. But because of the extreme situation they had to. Personally I see no point in waiting. Get our business done now. And only do something in January if very very necessary because of injuries or whatever. For example, getting someone like Paqueta in now can only help us ending in a better position. For FFP it won’t make a difference now. Also buying one now means one less player next window or the one after that. This deal could get done, grab the chance please. Better sponsorship even, if we finish high. I would guess even if marginally maybe. It’s like me paying my bills later…it ain’t gonna get cheaper if I wait!

Absolutely no crime..
-
I don't think we will sign him if i had to bet, but saying that there is zero chance as if it's a fact is just wrong.
-
He’s a proper psycho cunt bucket.
-
I hope and think we should get Paqueta but I don’t think it will happen. I see it as a chance of almost punching above our weight if we get him. Same as with Bruno and us getting him in January. Too good to miss out on such a good chance. Obviously can’t pay then whatever. But I reckon 40-45m plus add one could do it.
-
I like the idea of us in the very last third with Wilson being a proper handful and extremely difficult to deal with. Then having Paqueta as a #10, especially when the other team is with their backs against goal. Bruno popping up and playing one twos with Paqueta for example. With the two of them there in a more central area I can only drool when thinking of the control and composure we would have there in possession. Never mind the thought of Paqueta for example drawing players to him, would give more space for Wilson and Bruno, and again, never mind the wide forwards getting more space and vice Verda depending on where we attack from. When out of possession he can go a bit deeper and have the role of a AMC or the wide CM in a three with Bruno and Joelinton. He’s versatile, has tons of ability, and is most likely willing to come. People say we don’t need a #10. He’s more than that. Physically strong and good at pressing too. I think this is a must do signing. Cannot miss this train. It’s been pretty obvious so far that it’s not been easy to find too too class quality players that are willing to come. Say Diaby for example. I say go and get Paqueta and then a cheaper right sided player in, or someone like CHO on loan for example. Then when we are more attractive and maybe have more money and have shown that this is a club and team to watch out for then go proper big for a new wide player if needed. A good wide player with Paqueta in too will make us a better team on the whole than just getting a super expensive wide player. Having said the above a striker must come in too no matter what route we go. Maybe the same here, get a young promising striker and have Eilson as #1 when fit. Then later on get fucking Osimhen or whoever when it might be slightly more possible, even if not very likely. Just an example. When deeper in possession. Bruno’s progressive through balls finding Paqueta who is great at finding space between opposition lines….

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

No, but even a 4 year old can argue to death until they get what they want. Cry and cry if they want something. So I’m sure this breadstick can argue and tell his agent to get it done IF he wanted his move here. -
True, but IF we refuse to pay up then we will have to gamble a bit more. And I’d choose Madueke over Harrison (if possible).
-
Told by who You have no clue, neither do we, or the journalists (what our budget is)
-
Harrison is probably better than mid table aye. Personally I’d rather try and get someone like Madueke from PSV. Not sure how difficult it would be to get him or how much he would cost. But he could be very very after a season or so and will then after only get better and better. I reckon I’d rather give someone young like him a chance. A player that is very talented and good already and can grow with the club and won’t need to be replaced if things work out for him which seems rather likely. Would he cost much more than Harrison? Would say 35m or similar be enough?
-
The biggest reason I want someone like Paqueta is that when we play some teams that sit back then we need something special in the last third. Both to keep possession and to create more goal scoring opportunities. Willock is an attacking midfielder but not an effective one if the team isn’t in transition from defense to attack and when there is space to run into. Right now we barely have anything from the wide areas even, unless ASM is having a good day or if we count Trippier and his end product with crosses. Bruno can be creative but ideally someone like Paqueta and a RW to add to him will make as levels better in many ways. Even ASM struggles when teams sit back a lot.
-
Fofana would be class. A very very good and well rounded box to box CM. I don’t think we necessarily need a pure DM if there is enough athleticism in there. Can’t believe no one has signed him yet. Like made for the PL. like a more technical Sissoko with end product and a football img brain. Barely comparable apart from the physical side tbh.
-
Rather see Miggy than Wood start for us. RW should be highest priority though. Miggy was decent in the end of last season. Much better in general play. Wood can't handle a ball. Neither score much.
-
Rather have a cone than Traore.
-
As expected, and rightly so.

Ikon replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Who says I blame him for his choice? Im saying that we can’t blame the agent only. What I meant was that if Ekitike wanted to come here then he could have got it done despite his agent. Thought that was obvious. Don’t care what the bread stick wants anymore. I don’t think he wanted to come to begin with, so can’t blame the agent only. We have been played. -
You don’t say…. I’m just saying that I don’t want him. I think he would flop.
