You lot think we will get a player signed before the trip to Japan? Even if only one. And no, not Hall or Kelly or the keepers.
-
SJP is special in so many ways. But to really become elite elite we need to get our revenue up. A new stadium goes a long way of doing this from what I’ve read. A new stadium doesn’t mean it’s gotta be soulless. It will become “home” within time too. Especially if it’s built in the right way, and location.

I did though. I know they have been after him for a while as well as him liking RM. But it doesn’t really matter what club you are, if RM want a player in the future then they often get that player. I don’t think any club when thinking about signing a player should be thinking oohf maybe we shouldn’t sign him because if he does well then when RM come calling he will want to leave. So why see it as a “problem” now because of something that MIGHT happen in the future, and if it does it’s still been a very good signing for them because it means he’s done extremely well. RM were after Ronaldo too when he was at Sporting. There was always gonna be the “problem” of him leaving ManU too. I just don’t see it as a problem in the same way when signing a player that might be off in the future to say RM for example. Obviously it’s sucks losing players.
-
Looks like you don’t get the point! Which I thought is pretty easy to understand. Of course it’s always a problem losing your best players. But is it better to sign lesser players to not risk losing them? You never want to lose your best players, but it happens at times, and always will. If they do really well then they might be off. Doesn’t mean that it’s not been a good signing.
-
Yes! But that will mean that he’s done really well for them. So I’m not sure that’s a “problem”.
-
I think he will take some time to adapt but I’m pretty certain that he will be absolutely class. The only thing that gives me hope is that ManU continue to look poor overall which will make it difficult for him to utilise his talent properly and settle. On paper it’s one hell of a signing. Though I think RM would have been better for him, or the safer option for his development. He is a World Class talent. He’s so talented so that I find it hard to not see him succeeding even at ManU.

Annoyingly good signing that!!

Will that affect our deals massively one way or another? If that’s the case why we haven’t announced our deals that are in the pipeline. Just my gut feeling but I’m not sure that the hold up of these deals has much to do with the City case. Just guesswork from my side though. Hope I’m wrong if it helps us somehow.
-
True. When will we find out about the City case? When will it be “resolved” one way or another? IF that’s why we’re keeping our cards hidden.
-
“Number of deals in the pipeline”. Hopefully some really good sponsorship deals in the coming months. You reckon some of these might be the deals that the PL have yet to accept? If the rumours about then taking their damn time is true.

Potter Good coach but he doesn’t have the mentality or personality to handle such a big job and the pressure and scrutiny that comes with it. Don’t even think he would want it. (Actually might take it but not so sure)
-
But he said no thanks didn’t he. Going to RM very likely.

I would only let Isaks dog to pick up the phone and bark “Howe! Howe! Howe!”

Probably just a BS rumour regarding Kang-in Lee. Tbh I haven’t seen tons of him but the few times I’ve seen him I’ve really liked him and his style as a player. Very good technically and has a lot of attributes that I’ve liked. Those of you who have seen him more what do you think? Could he be a player that might thrive and develop in a new environment? Seems versatile and still young. Just seen the source, never mind..
-
Would be a bit ironic IF he decided to leave when you consider the way he talked/implied regarding The Gardener and loyalty.
-
Player of the year alongside the obvious ones. I’m absolutely certain of it.

Really like the idea of getting a DoF with more of a recruitment background. A top choice with more responsibility in this area so that Eddie can focus more on what he does best and allow PM to do his thing. Obviously they will work together in some degree but way different to before I think.

Not much new but that interview was very satisfying anyway and just confirms that even better times await. Exciting indeed.

We have a season now without Europe with all of our purples very very likely to stay imo. What we don’t need now is players that aren’t quite good enough or players that will be good enough in a season or two. What we both will and need to do is to bring in more players of similar profile to Botman, Isak, Bruno and so on. Players that will have a positive impact from the off and be real quality now as well as growing to even better players as the season(s) go on. Right now we can’t afford to wait for players to become good enough or players that aren’t an improvement. To keep the likes of Isak and Bruno to name two then we really need to kick on this season and compete at the top (not title). Our best players won’t wait years. I think we will have a good season tbh. It’s just rumours for now, but the likes of Elanga doesn’t cut it. Quality before quantity is key. Quality players with great technical ability is what it takes to get to the next level, and I’m confident that is what we are looking at, even if it’s far from easy to get the right ones in. I don’t care if we “only” sign 2-3 more players, as long as they are genuine quality. This doesn’t mean that we have to pay 80m, we might still find a very good cheaper option that will surprise us and do extremely well to add to those 2-3 say £35-60m players. And no, I don’t think we will sign 3 60m players before anyone gets started, but you get the idea. I’m very excited about the new season, and this is even before potential new signings. Just having Tonali back who I reckon will have an amazing season will improve us a lot on last seasons Longstaff for example. Also, some luck with injuries wouldn’t go amiss.
-
Poch, and id be happy with him but i think id like to see us go for Edin Terzic.
-
We will go for quality before quantity, you can bet your house on it. Maybe a very promising youngster or two to fill in.

Well it’s a forum and if I don’t rate a player then surely I can say so one would think. There’s many players we have been linked with that I rate that you’ve also liked so no I don’t think they are all shit. I don’t think DCL is absolutely shite and I’ve said so before. But he is unreliable and will struggle for fitness and form. I’ve even said before that I would take him but only for reasonable wages and fee, but it would have to be low money. I can see West Ham taking a too big of a risk and spend big money for him and his wages and I’d be very surprised to see him play most games and score 10-15 goals to make it worth it. He might do well for them and play tons but I find it very unlikely as said… Also, even if some get it right/wrong there’s no need to relentless gloating. Just don’t see why people would do it, it’s just boring and tiresome. Yes it can be mentioned but sometimes it goes beyond that.
-
Yes, but not for West Ham.

I think he will get and take the England job and then we we get Pochettino.
