  1. From The Shields Gazette Got quite angry when I read this (especially the bold part). I get what he means. But for me that is a really clumsy statement. Maximize your income because the stadium in full and only the geordies supports them... so how do you improve your income then? Play better and more sucessfull football! It´s not harder than that. The quotes is from the articel about Ashleys first five years and an interview from Keith Harris that tried to sell the club, with Mr Mort as the clostes one, and of course Mr Harris is licking it all up here. One interesting note though is that the requsted money for the club was £80m You can only imagan what he would get for it today. I think he for one is quit glad he hanged on. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/news/local-news/millionaire-was-close-to-buying-newcastle-united-1-4583284
  2. I don´t even know why you all are discussing this or if there any truths in this. But if it is, well go then Ba. I for one would be very disappointed with his attitude. To be honest I don´t know if he even like it´s here. Pissed offed when subbed and in the last games only playing for scoring, with a very poor overall game. And why should he piss off to another club when we has had a very good season and are building a great team. I´m not confidence with all the "make Ba feel loved" bit. For me we love all the players that are playing great and is giving there best for the team. Why should everything be about this player? Then it´s better if his gone so we don´t have to build a team around one player that isn´t even our most important player. Of course I would love him to stay. But not to every cost. For me, most of part, he should be the second chose behind Cisse.

Lubomir Satka. Basically the only one I recognized
  6. One of the worst player I have ever seen here. Hated it when he somehow was playing regulary here, hatet it. Urghh got chills down my spine just thinking of it
  7. I agree, but if they finish outside the automatic qualifying positions in their own country they should start at the first qualifying round. That seems fair to me and wouldn't be too difficult to organise. I also think the Europa League Champ should get a place, anything to inject a bit more life into that competition would be welcome. Now, that´s a good idea. I don´t think the third placed teams in the group stage at CL should get in to the EL´s knock out stage since it brings a real loser tag at the EL. But everyone knows that EL is an underdog tournament to CL so make the champions go to the CL would only make every team more serious. That and take some money from CL to the EL would be the ultimatum for me.
  8. It´s always been the case (since 2006) that it is the top 3, of the four spots, in England that´s guaranteed a place in CL. Then the last spot is between a case like this or goes to the forth team. Yes. Really, really, really bad luck for Tottenham this year that misses out even if they are forth since this probably happens every 20 years or so. BUT what´s the problem? Everyone knew this could happen. It´s exactly the same with the places for the EL when we have cup winners etc etc. I don´t hear it´s bud luck if you finish six and misses out because cup winners are taking the places, for example.

Don´t agree that Utd should be such a obvious better choice than City. For me City looks to be going to bigger things than Utd the next coming years.
  10. http://i.qkme.me/3pd7oh.jpg Come on mate... Owen wasnt such a bad signing .. he did completely take the p*ss out of a 13 year old red headed keeper on a dvd Well the past two years...
  11. Should be so typical us to get Cissokho on a season long loan with option to buy. We just can´t do bad transfers, can´t we?
  12. Agree with all the latest comments. Its definitely time to Simpson to move on. He´s not good enough and we don´t needs him as a back up.
  13. x2 (the transfers and Larry David)
  14. yeah, yeah. It´s funny that it went shit for Spurs and it though to see Chelsea celebrate. BUT I think the result was the best thing that could happened for us! Spurs misses CL with all the money and probably get it a lot tougher to keep and get players. And now that Abramovich has won the CL he all the years has wanted to maybe he won´t spend as much money in the future. And hey. It was damn exiting in the end.

  17. Maybe not the greatest team you put out there Crumpy Gunt, but never the less an interesting question. I think we need to rest players as much as possible if we not only want to do well in the EL, but also in the PL. But at the same time we should go for the EL and hence play as good teams as possible. I think the best way to deal with it is to based the team selection from our best team then see who needs to be rested or see if we have good enough players to fill in for the best players based from our opponent in the PL and who we are playing in the EL. Anyway. I don´t think it is a good idea to play the same players in every game and competition.

    The England Thread

I think England can make a good tournament and I definitely can´t wait for it to start (and end so the silly season can take proper place).
  19. He has started 6 games in 3 years. League games? Surely it isn't THAT bad if you take CL and the cups into contention. Not sure. Took it from a twitter feed. BUT bottom line is that he seems to be perfectly happy without basically playing, especially his two last years.

I would take him Toure is a prick if he wants to leave City now. Last few years he has probably been my favorite player. But a statement like that makes him drop in my eyes. Go back to Barca where he has won everything and not stay a year with City to try and win the CL, yeah, that makes sense in all the "new challenge". And regarding Cheslea. It would definitely be a new challenge, a new challenge to compete for CL-places, not victories.
