Game really isn't very popular in India/Pakistan. Can't comment on how popular it is in the Middle East. The lack of Halal food, the alcohol, and the rowdy atmosphere may also be contributing factors for those of them who are practicing Muslims. Football is huge in India, both in terms of local attendances and through satellite TV. In the middle east they're as mad about football as we are in the north east of England. (Egypt, UAE, Iran, Iraq etc etc) The majority of muslims I know drink alcohol and I'm sure those who have been to Mecca would not think of an EPL game as having a "rowdy atmosphere" As with any other section of society if they like football then go to the match, if not don't. Really? Those are some pretty poor muslims then. Most Muslims I know are the same tbh, including mi padre. (I'm not a muslim, so I wouldn't include myself in that)

The better atmosphere as I think the players would respond more to it.

We turn up in numbers, but vocal (most of the time) non-fickle support is what we don't have. Depends what you think would be better for us, 40,000 singing fans who don't boo managers decisions or 60,000 quiet fickle fans? I'm just generally cautious when people try to say our fans are brilliant etc..., when we are better than most (which isn't saying anything), but we are not the best at all.

Nah, with us it really is fucking believable.

Enrique? Hasn't featured much in the slightest...
-
It seems as if we are willing to have a go, looking slightly better.

The majority of the lads are doing a great job but unfortunately you may get dragged down by the muppets that you have amongst you. I seen nobody get thrown out and this idea of spitting on stewards blah blah blah crap is actually funny to here as i am sure that person would of got thrown out. That post was quite funny for us ultras as we know what a a pile of w*** it is. I am under the impression that anything bad that happens in the ground now gets tarred to the ultras , simply because the person who "seen" it , the only one mind you , doesn't like us. We do attract some of the wrong kind of people, hence why we used to be wrongly labeled as charvs. If an Ultra who we know was an ultra had any kind of trouble with the police/steward we would have all known about it as it would have been brought up on the forum at some point, however it hasn't, and I would hazard a guess at it being someone who has gave us a bad name in the past, or someone of that ilk. I did see a lad who looked about 13 at most try to sneak out from the concourse then rightly get dragged back by the police, I didn't know him, none of us. Our 'problem' is that anyone can sit or stand with us, therefore any numpty can come next to us and cause trouble and from an outsiders point of view, it's an ultra doing it. On a completely different note, we do come across as very defensive on here. The reason for this is that we have been slated by anyone and everyone in the past, and now we are getting somewhere with a lot of people backing us, however on here it seems there are some people who still want to wrongly slate us as the 'shoes off' brigade etc... It winds some of our members (Kane more so than others blueyes.gif) up, and in turn we come across as confrontational to those people. At the end of the day the lad was sat with your lot, no point in saying he wasn't an Ultra as it's hardly an official group with any form of membership, who's to say who's a part of the Ultra's and who isn't? From what we've seen of Kane on here I can't think of a single reason why anyone would want to be part of a group with that idiot as some sort of figurehead. I'm not commenting on the second point really, as Kane's a sound lad, just very passionate about the Ultras. He also isn't a figurehead for us, just someone who posts on here a lot. But for the first point, If a situation occurred where lets say a black player was subject to racial abuse by a minority of fans. The next day the papers were stating that the whole of the away support were bigoted racists. Would you not feel pissed off with the fact that everyone is labeled racists where as its only a few. Its the same with us, only a few people in our section were being dickheads, and we are all being labeled as yobs or drunkards. When these people aren't even ultras (If we don't know the person, the person isn't an ultra as that person does not know our 'code of conduct' (no 'Easy Easy' 'Shoe's off' etc...) so to speak, therefore thats an individual fan who wants to stand next to us.) it pisses us off even more as it's not a small minority of us doing it, but a minority of Newcastle fans standing next to us. N.B. - That's my view of who or who isn't an ultra, it's not something that has actually been defined tbh as it hasn't been a real issue up until now.

Idiots who are the only fuckers bothering their arses to get behind the team by singing and chanting, you mean? Honestly, without them these past three home games, the atmosphere would have been unbearable, to people like me anyway, who values a good atmosphere or rather the positive effects it can have. Smith will be delighted with the reception he got from them in particular. All good as far as I'm concerned. I don't sit with the ultras, and I sing You know what I mean, in concentrated numbers and throughout. Surely when the new season starts, they are all going to split up (the ones that have season tickets). I think the atmosphere will be decent next season anyway tbh Most of us have our season tickets up in Leazes Level 7, dotted round a bit, but still near each other. The non-TU up in level 7 also generally seem more willing to sing than a lot of other places around the ground (personal experience, even though it is a bit of large generalisation), which always helps. This may be down to the fact that all of us lot or willing to stand up and sing, and they won't feel daft being the only one round them singing, which did happen a lot in my old ST in the 'corner', i don't know, but it's what i've experienced. I hope this will lead to a better home atmosphere in the premiership.

f*** that, leave the mongs where they are JOKE TU Dunno about that seriously, although as an open forum to NUFC fans, they are welcome to promote themselves when and wherever on here as far as I'm concerned. I think being independent is good for them though, will make them work harder to get themselves organised and also help themselves as a setup. They badly need some good press though. Maybe an N.O none TU member can stand amongst them, take pics and do a write up of what it was like up there among the Toon Ultras, for the main site? I would advise against the first idea tbh. We have our own style of banter etc..., which i don't think would fit in too well over here. However, your second idea of a write up by a none biased member is very good, as like you said, the publicity would do us wonders. We have had mentions in a number of places, Lee Ryders Blog, The Chronicle and True faith to name a few, but they were a decent while ago and a fresh new 'marketing' campaign is in order to attract more and more memebers. Also, cheers for the supportive comments.

Aye the Ultras might have been. That's hardly a majority. The Ultra's sing about whats happening on the pitch, we had won numerous wins in a row, the club seemed on a high, that was down to Roeder, so we applauded him with a chant ' Glenn Roeders black and white army' If you, or any other fan thought that meant we collectively wanted Roeder at the club, then your wrong. The majority( on toonultras.com ) wanted o'niell , i personally jumped on the hitzfeld bandwagon.

Worse now as i'm becoming apathetic, i'm starting to care less and less about Newcastle, as i know the only way out is going to be long, and at the best hovering mid-table mediocrity, so atleast if i distant myself slightly, i won't be as bothered. However, i've still got a season ticket, and i will still have one next season, i know it's stupid, but it can't be helped, a one man boycot doesn't seem the right path.

If your protective over the 8 year old with things like swearing, the constant shower of shite the team serves up makes the family enclosure the best place, also by far the cheapest.

We have also gained a mention in the chronicle, which is a very big plus for us, we are gaining momentum, the local press have twigged on, can only get better. http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/1176/dsc00369qf1.jpg

We don't actually dis-like N-O or it's regular members, the problem between the two was with the hitzfeld campaign you all had going, when i believe it was HTT asked us to back his campaign, however he wouldn't back TU on N-O, and it went from there. About tonight, i was very impressed with the numbers we had, 60-100 is a great achievement considering our image has been badly discredited due to the charver element up in level 7, also we never stopped singing, just need to keep working at it. Not totally true as I told the guys who were looking after tu a while back we would happily back them if they simply showed us what they had planned. We then got insults and stuff like we hate N-O, don't need N-O and stuff like that. I recall N-O saying that they wouldn't endorse the Ultras as a group, but the idea of Bringing back the noise generally, but at that time, we had no plans, we were an absolute shambles, and i wouldn't have been surprised if you did recieve a bad reception as it wasn't really going anywhere, people were on the forum for just the banter etc..., but we've came over that greatly, and actually are more organised as a group etc.. With the charvs, it's like flies to shit, its not that we are ultras that they moved, but just for the noise and general piss taking of the away fans. However when i had a look up at L7 yesterday, there was still a large congregation of Charvs up there and they may just stay up there, i fucking hope so.

No it's not, and it's because of people who do that, that my trip to man city was nearly fucked up.

Crossley, fulham keeper, when we lost 4-1, exceptional performance.

Well you've convinced me. They weren't being racist at all, they were merely complementing the Blackburn fans on living in a multi-cultural environment. I didn't say that wasn't racist, i wasn't talking in the context of the football match. It is racist and i don't see how it isn't tbh, but the general word paki, in my opinion isn't racist unless it is used in a derogatory way.
-
I'm divided on this. The word 'paki' isn't used in a racist context a lot of the time. Someone saying, 'i'm going to the pakis', isn't meant to be racist, or used with racist intent. It's how you use the word, not just the term.
-
Was a bit of it on the Blackburn Train station platorm, nothing major like. Hear this stuff all the time. Worst was on the bus back from Man Utd, people monkey chanting, shouting dirty terrorist and the likes, f***ing disgraceful, however when you see the type of people who sing it, you just have to take it with a pinch of salt.
-
There was most likely 10-20 of us at Man Utd, all dispersed through the crowd, so no, its not, an Ultra may have started it, but so could anyone else.
-
For the two intertoto games there was no designated place for the Ultras, but a few decided to stand at the back of the Gallowgate, and as we made noise, more and more Charvs came and stood up there, as said they follow the noise. Sorry mate, could be our fault they are there.
-
We are nothing to do with the Gallowgaters. I didn't see or hear them from up in level 7. Was it just full of charvs, and how many do you think were there ?
-
Most Ultras do wear jeans and the likes to matches, as do i, however the people up there for a piss take are thought of as Ultras, which is really damaging our image. There's been an idea proposed, to move a block or two away from them, which could work well, but the fact that we are probably out numbered by the piss takers will be a massive problem. Also they may just follow the noise, and come stand next to us, which also could deter this plan from working.
