How do you phase players out on a 4 year contract at 50k a week? Nolan as a squad player? Are you for real? He had 2 years left on his contract, there's no reason we couldn't have went into the season with him on his present deal if we'd just treated him with a bit of respect and told him the situation. But yeah fair enough, lets replace a proven Premier League goalscorer with someone who's never played in the Premier League and hope for the best. If you can't grasp the idea of phasing a senior player out gradually rather than just getting rid and taking a big risk on his replacement then fair enough. I thought he wanted a longer contract? Otherwise what was stopping him staying here and fighting for his place?

I don't disagree with much of that but when we talk about why our best players want to leave the club, which ones are you talking about? There's been Carroll who went for a staggering fee after 6 months in the premier league, and there's Enrique who had a year left on his contract and was going to leave for the highest bidder. Seems like to me the only bidders in either case were Liverpool and Cunny Dalglish scavenging on his old haunts. The other shitbag scousers, Nolan and Barton didn't attract any serious attention from the Mersey scum. I wonder why?

Why would he got Stoke when he himself has said he will only leave for a top 4 club and his agent has been broadcasting to the world that he won't have any problem getting a deal with a top club? Do they think Stoke will be playing CL football next year?

Could it not be the case we are moving players out to make room for different players to come in? If we have a maximum 25 man first team squad then maybe we are moving some out to make room for incoming players.

How much of him have you seen? I saw him in a reserve game once and he looked great but he obviously isn't rated that highly at Liverpool. Has he really progressed at a higher level?

If Lovenkrands is an important striker then why the clamour for more strikers? On the one hand we are moaning about having the likes of Best, Ameobi and Lovenkrands as our strikers because they are so shit then the same people are up in arms if we try to sell them. Who on earth would be up in arms about selling Lovenkrands? Just making the point that no matter how useless he may seem, he scored seven goals last season. That's a fact. So what? I would still rather upgrade him despite his goals. Best and Shola also scored goals last season, how many poor forwards can you keep on the basis they got x amount of goals? To upgrade him you need a replacement. If we sell him without a replacement you'd have a point. I'm pretty sure there'll be a striker coming in though, and even if there wasn't I think I'd rather have Vukic on the pitch than him.
