  1. those two could make a really good partnership in all seriousness. If Williamson keeps up these performances obviously. I though Williamson looked good but Coloccini was class. Is it those two you were talking about?

Aye because Nolan and Smith are outdoing him in that department like What's that got to do with him losing 50/50's or keeping possession? Nothing, but you're suggesting that he shouldn't play in CM because of that, when he still keeps possession and wins 50/50s more than the other CMs played ahead of him. He should be an automatic starter there. No, I'm not suggesting he shouldn't play in central midfield, I'm just saying that his crap performance today shouldn't be excused because he wasn't playing there. f***ing hell, if Pancrate can put in a shift at right back is it too much to ask Guthrie to bust a gut in midfield? If you care to think back to before the last couple of games, you'd see that he was. Sorry I thought we were talking about today's game.
  3. It will be because of the style of football that the Manager is trying to encourage. Martinez is a big factor without a doubt. If Stoke or Blackburn put in a bid for instance I doubt Moses would even consider it.

It doesn't matter if you're the best or worst midfielder at the club, if you lose 50/50 challenges and keep conceding possession you are hardly advertising your credentials to play central midfield where the action is usually the hardest contested.
  7. if he chose Wigan over us cos of money, great, we dont need any more mercenaries like that at this club. He would not have chosen Wigan due to money and is certainly no merc, the administrators will want the highest dollar they can get for him (not Moses) but if Moses can agree personal terms with Wigan then he will go there, the sale fee is out of his control. Wages are another thing and if a Premiereship club can offer him more and regular football then why should he not go there. Some need to remember that we are no longer the catch we used and havent been for a long while, a player will only come here if we can meet their personal terms and and beat off any competition. No way will we be able to fight against prem clubs for signatures, if we were playing consistant good football and sat with a 12 point lead with a game in hand then I would believe otherwise. You don't become one of the best strikers playing crap football infront of 40k+ loyal fans in the Championship . Bollocks. If we match the fee and personal terms I think we are a big draw for any ambitious young player. Wigan have offered a bigger fee so they are in the driving seat for now. Obviously the kid's in demand so the administrators are waiting to see bids most.

I'm fed up of people making excuses for him to be honest. If he loses 50-50 challenges and gives up the ball in any part of the pitch on a regular basis it's his fault. These are just basics of being a decent footballer. Maybe we are starting to see why Liverpool didn't want him.
  9. Don't really know what to make of him tbh. He wins a few in the air and has hit the odd decent shot once in a while, but his hold up play is pretty weak...for such a big guy he gets knocked over surprisingly regularly. He shouldn't be starting so many games IMO, he's still far too raw.
  10. Ryan Taylor was horrendous in the first half but when we pushed up the pitch he started getting a few crosses in at least. Hughton basically handed Leicester a point with his team selection today. All the sending off did was level the playing field as we were both playing with 10 men. Nolan is usually a passenger against any half decent defence, we improved 100% when he finally got hauled off.
  11. I can remember plenty slating Enrique early in his career here but for anyone who can spot ability it was clear he had something about him. This lad looks the same, I reckon he might go on to be a very good full back, but he probably needs to play in a team that plays football to look his best. There were times today when he overlapped very well and got in behind the opposition but the ball never reached him because the midfielder in possession lost the ball.
  12. That's probably the most level-headed contribution to the debate so far. I quite like Hughton, he defends his players in public and he's clearly got a great team ethic running through the team, but his team selections have bordered on ridiculous. It was a poorly balanced team he set out with, but after the sending off to continue with one striker up front until the 75th min was appalling.

He does seem to have games where he looks lethargic and defeatist and you can't put it all down to being played out of position. There were loads of times today when he had the ball in the middle but got harried into losing possession by a hungrier opponent. He could be our best central midfielder except he seems to be a bit of a loser.
  14. Do you know that he is a better player? I have a feeling we'll like what we see, why don't you wait til after the game before writing him off?
  15. The problem is having the two of them in the same side, not to mention Smith who's creaking a bit these days as well.
  16. Kadar is our player and he needs games, we shouldn't be giving players from other clubs experience at the cost of our own. We need to play for the results first we can give Kadar experience later, he's not going anywhere. If VA can give us something extra for a few games I'll take it.
  17. Looking at that line up Van Aalholt might be our best attacking line up down the left.
  18. Maybe we'll score from a dead ball situation. Shit...I've just realised I'm going to have to watch this live.
  19. So Enrique's injured which means we lose half of our attacking threat, now Hughton obliterates the other half by dropping Jonas
  20. That wouldn't be a bad side if you took Nolan out and put Lovenkrands in his place. I would rather have Nolan there tbh. His best games have come as the second striker as he has less responsibilty in getting back. His finishing is very good as well, especially valuable away from home I like to have quick forwards away from home so we can hit teams on the break, Ranger style. With Nolan and Carroll up front you really need to be playing a pressing game to get the best out of them.
  21. That wouldn't be a bad side if you took Nolan out and put Lovenkrands in his place.
  22. I'd be surprised considering Hughton mentioned after the Crystal Palace game that Kadar was more comfortable after he had been moved from right back to left back. Agreed. Why would he go for Kadar when he's got a genuine right back available anyway in Ryan Taylor?
  23. credit where credit is due, he is backing his manager clearly. clearly it is to make sure we go back up, whatever his reasons for doing so, im not overally bothered as long as we get there. I agree, it's just some people seem to be thinking of Ashley in a slightly positive light. so what? He doesn't deserve to be thought of like that. if he continues to do the correct things, then credit has to be given. No it doesn't, he's doing it purely for himself. who cares as long as he's doing it.
