Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m
TRon replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
Seriously, I couldn't agree more. We cant move on until Ashley fucks off The good news is that with the club only having to fork out £2m, the sale should in theory go through more smoothly. -
When I used the term justified I was using it as a fan giving an opinion on an internet forum. Since there's no official conclusion whether it was justified or not there's nowt wrong with me saying one way or the other is there? So why the hissy fit?

So are you saying that a £25 million compensation claim in these circumstances was justified? I am. Tell me why it wasn't. It wasn't justified otherwise he would have got it. He seems happy enough with what he's got and good for him. Just because his lawyers were going for whatever they could doesn't make it right. No, he didn't get it because it was written into his contract that he couldn't get it. The verdict had nothing to do with whether the 25m was justified or not, and since KK accepted that publishing the verdict would restore his reputation, the 25m wasn't an issue anymore. Exactly. I think some people on here need to fucking read the thing before mouthing off about what Keegan 'was awarded'. Don't know if that's aimed at me but I did read the PDF. I'm very glad Keegan didn't get £25m for reasons I've already stated. He won the case, got compensation which is more than enough imo, and the club is still in a position to be sold. There's nothing to stop a new owner appointing Keegan either which I would fully support. If you've read it then I'd expect you to realise that his claim was deemed irrelevant by the fact the termination clause was upheld. Your post about his claim not being justified makes no sense, because the tribunal didn't go that far. Are we debating over what the term 'justified' means now? How can you say it makes no sense when the tribunal has upheld that the termination clause was valid and Keegan acknowledged it was?

the dogs bollocks I would prefer Keegan actually, just the story is bollocks.

Keegan vs Ashley and Co case settled - KK awarded 2m

I think most owners will just be very careful about contracts they hand out to managers in future, some of the shiftier types will probably go down the Ashley route of appointing yes men just to be on the safe side. I think this is a special case though, you would like to think most owners would treat their employees a bit less shabbily. -

Thats all a bit wishy washy to be honest. Its not as if we are celebrating him snapping both legs in half rendering him unable to walk for the rest of his life. The guy has sustained yet another niggly little injury in the circumstances which appear to be similar to those that made NUFC fans cynical of the little shithead in the first place. He deserves nothing less than total contempt from us - balances out for the total contempt that he holds for us. You think he didnt laugh when Blackpool beat us last week ? I don't think it's 'wishy washy' at all, whatever you mean by that. I just think it['s a bit sad to be looking out for injuries to a player who should just be forgotten about, and even enjoying them. I doubt he even looks at Newcastle results TBH. and yet this bored little brat was made our captain. Is it any wonder we went down?

This would just make my day. Pleaase PLEAASE be true!!

The way I look at it, he' 100% trustworthy, he has far more experience than Shearer who is 1st choice...and I really would like to watch good football again.
-
Could we reset the poll on this one after the tribunal findings? For the record yes 100%
-
I really should put that in my sig. But on second thoughts...nah.

Read through the whole PDF and have to say that the tribunal was very fair. Clearly Ashley and co are despicable lying bastards but £2m compensation is more than enough for someone who was out of work in any case before being given the job. I'm just sorry that Keegan wasn't able to finish the jpb he started because we would have been a lot better off if he was here now than we are at present.

There is no stigma as he has been totally vindicated. If Keegan is worth having as a manager then surely a premier club will gladly have him? Not that i think there'll be a queue of owners lining up to give him a job like.
-
This is the best result possible for everyone. Keegan is vindicated, the club isn't cleaned out and the sale to Barry Moat should now go through assuming Ashley doesn't pull another rabbit from the hat. I'm really pleased with it

I kind of agree, on the 'to replace' list Jonas would be right down the bottom, surely. Other than Enrique who I believe is definitely good enough for the Prem. Ryan Taylor and Kevin Nolan have offered us far more this season though. Funny old game. With our current long ball tactics they are going to be a mile better suited to our purpose than Jonas. In fact I would suggest if this is the style which we are going to use to get us promoted then we should try and get another left wing version of Ryan Taylor to replace Jonas. Wing the ball in from either side for the big lads to fight for and Nolan can pick up the scraps.

Absolutely spot on. Well said mate. It worries me that so called "fans" woud be taken in by this Llambias leak. He has done this so many times and it just shows what a cretin he really is. I can see how Hitler came to power with his propoganda machine behind him, so many people just believe everything they WANT to believe, it's scary. I hope Keegan gets what is due to him and what he is entitled to, not only has he lost out financially, the dirty tricks department have been well busy, really it just shows their complete lack of class and decency. The sooner they are gone the better. you're as bad as the "keegan haters". theres as much evidence out there in public to blame both sides yet you can see only believe the keegan side. Well, ignoring the football side of things, if I had to chose who to believe between Keegan and Ashley/Llambias, given their track record of lies and leaks, I wouldn't believe Ashley or Llambias if they told me it was snowing in the Alps. They are classless, clueless and have not one ounce of professional credibility (ask anyone in he City). Rich charvas both of them. I would believe Keegan over them every day of the week, month and year. It's pretty simple really. The below the belt press leaks are hardly going to work in Ashley's favour imo. Those sitting in judgement aren'ts stupid and I doubt this type of cheap shot is going to make them come down on Ashley's side.

Probably something to do with walking out on us for a second time and trying to bleed the club of 10 million, which given our current situation, is really s***. Just because he did great things for us in the past doesn't mean he's forever void of criticism and can do no wrong until the day he dies. The tribunal will show who is right in the Keegan vs Ashley and his mates case so we'll see how that pans out and I know who I'd trust out of the 2 sides. If he is entitled to his contract for bing mugged off then so be it. £8 million? The proifit he made the club on Bassong? It boils my urine seeing so called NUFC fans call him worse than shi*e. The only reason I hope gets nowt is that Ashley will not pay him out of his own pocket and any major award to KK could have serious implications for the Clubs immediate future. He will sell again come the transfer window if he has to find serious money and that could end whatever chance we have of getting straight back up. That's my position as well. I will always appreciate what Keegan did for this club but he was well paid and we need the money more than he does. If he wins we are possibly stuck with Ashley for the long term if the sale of the club is affected...and if it's a big pay out then it more than likely will be.
-
Not really a major surprise is it? Llambias must be one of the most odious characters ever to have been associated with this club, only Ashley would be clueless enough to pay him to make a cunt of himself on a regular basis.
-
On paper the QPR team shouldn't have been in the same class as ours on Wednesday but a hefty pay packet doesn 't guarantee results as we saw last season. The squad is still hamstrung by lack of decent wide players and an unbalanced team isn't as effective on the pitch as it is on paper. Once Hughton starts picking a proper midfield with two forwards we'll have a better idea of how good we are and we'll maybe look as convincing as the results would suggest.

Can't say I am happy about Keegan walking away with compensation but he was clearly led up the garden path by the cockney spivs. There just wasn't any need for it.

On this occasion, it wasn't me who started it. I like the convuluted logic, but there's also a serious point there. I don't think the Halls or Shepherd were consulted about Keegan's return, because Ashley and co had fallen out with the old regime over what they felt were hidden loan repayment clauses which ought to have been brought to their attention. They made the appointment largely on the basis of the kind of heroic account which the likes of Caulkin is putting forward. They'd have got a more complete picture if they'd talked to people with inside knowledge. The bit of history that got repeated as a result was the walkout and the flaky temperament. The other element in past success that wasn't taken on board was the role of the heavy financial backing that was given to Keegan for new players. We'll never know whether this, that or the other manager would have done better or worse with the same support, but it was a factor. Every time the momentum stalled, Keegan was able to go out and buy more players. When the money ran out, he decided it was time to go. Coincidence? You decide. In which case Keegan must be the stupidest choice as manager ever if there were never any funds available for team strengthening. Ashley might be incompetent but surely no one's that thick?
