  1. Why? he might score a goal amd spoil Hughton's cunning plan...
  2. Geremi isn't the problem, it's Butt. You can't play both in the same team, and Butt is the bigger waste of space.
  3. Shit selection, shit performance and if you'd put the Grinch in central midfield we couldn't show less heart. But we are level and we can hope that we might fluke a winner in the second half, who knows? The result is the only thing that counts today, we can only hope...
  4. He's probably got more of a clue than Supermac on Century.
  5. Doesn't matter how we play, as long as we don't concede, there's a chance Owen or Martins can win us this game.
  6. Don't worry, Chris Hughton is ready to give them a half time bollocking http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lhZQZQvpkDg/SYjDaj7q-cI/AAAAAAAAAgc/DdDj9iYSEtc/s400/SM1.jpg
  7. Welcome back to the team you old team-spoiling twat
  8. They might be slow coaches but they are famous names which is what matters to Chris the Clueless Cunt Hughton.
  9. You mean Taylor? Not too fussed about Taylor, he's just another midfield clogger. Lovenkrands will be more missed because he's quick. You'd have not brought Owen back then? Or played three up front? Lovenkrands and Martins were a masive threat on the counter last week, and the midfield had no Butt, that has been changed today and it's a chicken shit decision which deserves defeat, and IMO will get it. Either 4-3-3 or Owen on the bench to start. The shape of the side should have come first.

  11. Terrible selection by Hughton, bringing back Butt and dropping Lovenkrands. Totally unbalanced the midfield.
  12. I'm amazed people are up for posting about transfer targets in the summer after the fiasco in January. We don't even know which division we will be playing in yet so I thnk I'll leave the speculation till September.
  13. The Scumdog Mackemfairy has spoken: If our lads aren't up for this one they deserve the Championship and the wages that go with it.
  14. I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him at right back, I never expected him to look up to much as a midfielder. If he can provide decent cover at RB it's not bad business at £1.5m. Not a disaster at any rate.
  15. Check out HTL's comment don't know if HTL's serious but it's true that a lot of Mediterraneans are a bit touchy feely, it doesn't necessarily mean he's gay (apologies board luvvies, sorry to break the news).
  16. It won't be commitment that wins this match, it will be the midfielders being brave enough to run into space, make incisive passes and get into the box. Hopefully the class of our strikers can then win us the game. Basically we just have to show up and treat Hull like the shit they are instead of being terrified of losing.
  17. We'll get a decent fee if we sell him now, and he's squad filler if we don't. Nothing really to whinge about if you ask me, the problem will be Kinnear picking him ahead of the likes of Xisco because he needs a big hard lad to scrap for the long punts up field.

    Praise The Lord

He started badly early season due to the earlier injury niggle, but before he got crocked by Cattermole, he was showing signs of being back to his imperious best. Will be a massive boost to have him back.
  19. Nah. Even if you do read it that way, then you can't ignore that he's blaming the owners for causing the fans' reaction and therefore the responsibility would ultimately lie at their door. I have to say that to pick out that rather tenuous interpretation and ignore the rest of what was said suggests that you might possibly have an agenda against the writer, wonder why that might be? You did see the quote from Keegan didn't you, why no accusations sent in his direction? Do I have an agenda? Not trying to be smart or anything but it depends on the interpretation of agenda. I think Ryder is a very poor journalist but I have nothing against him as really the Chronicle has had its day in my opinion. You're right that ultimately blame would lie with Ashley for causing the bad feeling amongst the fans but the way I read the paragraph I pointed out it was saying that the negativity from fans was transferring itself to the pitch which is why we're now in a relegation fight. It may be a short paragraph on a theme not central to his blog but sometimes these small snippets reveal a lot! Reason I posted is that I wanted to see if I read it correctly, nothing more. I ignored the rest as in my opinion the rest isn't worth commenting on and as I said I wouldn't get into a discussion with Ashley sympathisers (which is how the thread would go if I brought up the other issues) as I haven't got a lot of time for them. Just as they probably haven't got a lot of time for my views. None of us are going change our positions. With regards to Keegans comment, he may have had a go at the fans in the past when weve gone through a sticky spell but I very much doubt he would blame the fans for being in a relegation dog fight. Theres only two reasons for being in a relegation fight; poor players or a poor manager, a mixture of both. You read it right. Lee is blaming the way supporters have reacted to the Mikes eventful stint in charge for the teams failings, not how Mike has actually run the club. Selling your best players and appointing a joke manager with a dicky heart has nothing to do with NUFC staring relegation in the face according to Lee. Sold our best players?, like who? http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/images/2006/12/11/given_367x470.jpg One of our best players. best player...singular....you said players. I thought it was a good move to sell Given. It won't have a massive impact on results, we got rid of an unhappy player and kept a very promising keeper in Krul as a result.

Is there a category for worst thread ever in the N-O awards ceremony?
  21. A draw at this stage is not much use to us considering this is porobably one of the games we have a reasonable chance of getting three points from. We've got the personnel to win it...the question is whether the players will show the courage required too go out and take the points.
  22. Going back to the first ever meeting when NUSC was formed, the long term goal for it was some sort of fan representation at boardroom level, it doesn't have to be under the Ashley regime, it may well be an impossible dream, it may happen in 5 years time, 10 years time if new owners come in, i doubt it'll happen under AShley but you never know. This is true. NUSCs core objective is sound. Effective representation of supporters may not lead to utopia, but it can curb the worst excesses of owner abuse. Give supporters a way of being loyal without being shit on. If wed had a 10,000 strong NUSC ten years ago Shepherd would have thought twice about kicking supporters out of their seats, and if hed still gone ahead we could have put up a real fight. As is was it was left to six blokes to stand up for supporters rights. Sometimes Chairmen and owners have to make unpopular decisions to grow the club, and fans don't always see the bigger picture. I doubt Shepherd was moving those six supporters because he had something against them, it was probably commercial reasons. This is why I don't trust fans to have too much say on club policies, although sensible input would be a good thing.
  23. I see Farrington's been promoted from the Sunday Sun. Clearly with the loss of Anal Oliver they have decided that the local rag is now short of clueless rumours and crazy transfer info and Farrington is the man to provide it
  24. I'm also interested to see how a "organisation of supporters, committed to strengthening the voice for supporters in the decision making process at Newcastle United." ties in with organising pie and pint boycotts of the club while urging fans to spend their money at establishments with no investment in Newcastle? I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but to really acquire a stake in the club and have a say in the running of the club the whole outlook of the NUSC would need a 180 degree turn.
