I hope that's true. A show of leadership from the front is what's needed right now.

and Krul will be putting his foot through the telly
-
It's the Dyer situation all over again. We'll sell but only at the right price. I'm hoping that other signings aren't dependent on it, that would be a position of real strength.
-
We hold all the cards if we aren't planning on buying any more players. If we want to buy say M'bia or Donadel for example, we'll probably need the sale to go through before too long.
-
I agree. I'd prefer more but I'd take that. Given's had enough here and it doesn't do him or us any good to have an unhappy player around who isn't enjoying playing for the toon. I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley holds out for more but that might mean missing bringing much needed players in.

agree with the sentiments there tron, but fuck me are those song lyrics? I should write Obama's speeches tbh
-
Let's hear it for the real loyal servant of the club. Fuck City and any of our players casting their envious eyes in their direction.
-
I wish he would hurry up and go. The sooner the wantaway leavers are out the door the better for me, especially if it will release decent funds to buy others. Influential players who aren't happy are like a cancer IMO, we need a fresh start with players who are burning with desire.

When you wanted to 'slap' Kevin Keegan did it occur to you that he'd have knocked you spark out?
-
So left footed Frenchman in, right footed ones fuk off? Maybe we could get the right-footed ones to stick their right foot in the gobs of the keft-footed ones? That way we'd had a balanced squad with no whingeing.
-
The end of Mr Gullit and his impotent football, I wouldn't care, I thought that we were going to win it when we went 1 up. as did ii, rememba me old man havin a rite tyrade towards enything and everything for as long as yaz wer 1 up, we equalised and everything changed lol, oh the memories fuckin hell he even types in mackem.
-
We haven't done too badly from the French contingent in fairness. Robert, Ginola and Bernard were big successes. Even Zog for all his moanining is going to more than pay off when we eventually flog him to Spurs or Villa. That lad Bassong looks useful as well.
-
Everything depends on the manager for me. Spanish players could never have excelled at Liverpool if Phil Thompson was the manager, and Arsenal's foreign legion would be lost if someone like Tony Adams was in charge. Very few British managers have what it takes to get the best of foreign stars, Alex Ferguson being an outstanding example of one who can.
-
Its a decent deal if it was Everton, Villa, dare I say it Spurs but when its £14m for a 29 year old crock striker City bidding them you want to be looking closer to £15m imo or at least £8-10m with a decent player included. I'd prefer £10m from City to £9m from Spurs.
-
£8-10million is a decent deal for a 32 yr old keeper who wants out and who we can cover for in any case. Shay has to look out for his interests and we have to look out for ours.
-
Look at what you get: http://www.shepherdoffshore.com/warehousing/warehousing.htm What were we using the premises for, stockpiling corpses? That must be where the first team squad lodges then
-
give him the armband tbh
-
Freddie's just trying to deflect attention from the recent accounts which don't reflect well on him and his spongeing family. Obviously Bruce Shepherd had the best warehouses available in the whole of Newcastle, and young Ken was picked as an agent because he was the best agent around, not because he was fatso's son
-
Great attitude, hope it shows on the pitch
-
That's the problem with backing some managers, how the fuck Curbishley persuaded his board to pay £7m for this crock is hard to imagine.
-
Would still be our best option as well He could outrun half the fucking team, that's for sure.
-
No one else is going to pay the wages these guys are picking up. If Allaryce was so great as Freddie Shepherd seems to think, why doesn't he back his own judgement and buy these players for Blackburn?
-
Obviously Allardyce was backed, that's how we brought in Geremi, Viduka and Smith. If we could unload these over-paid leeches then it would free up funds to buy genuine Premiership footballers. The only reason they are here, refusing to budge is because Shepherd appointed Fat Sam and his 40 strong staff, none of whom could point out that Smith was a pile of shit.
-
You agree then that the squad bursting with internationals is good enough?
-
If sacking Allardyce was a mistake is it fair to say that Shepherd thinks that the squad he assembled "bursting with internationals" was good value? Does that mean Ashley is right in not spending more money on the first team as the players here are already good enough? Viduka, Geremi and Smith are worth £3.5m a year each in wages then?
