The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]

I think she'd scrub up nicely tbh. Not many bird's would look great with that little make up. -
I'd prefer it if he was decent at leftback and not just a very good cb Tonight he will make his name as a leftback of top quality. Believe with me! He's a centre back really. I saw him in the reserve game against Liverpool and he looked a good prospect. I'm optimistic he'll do well.

Roeder was the worst manager we've had for years IMO. If he was a school teacher the kids would be firing pellets at his arse through a pea shooter every time he tried to write on the blackboard. I disagree So do I. The team played much better looking football than under Souness and Allardyce, and had no worse results. Remember us holding Manchester Utd to a 2-2 draw with a defence consisting of Solano, Taylor, Huntington and Edgar? Sibierski up front? Hell, even Pattison got a few minutes. Our squad was even worse then than it is now. Roeder's main problem was that he was incapable of getting good players in. Roeder got good results while Shearer was there to hold his hand, and there was a feel good factor after Souness's departure. Once the players sussed him out as having no back bone they soon started taking the piss. I always got the impression Roeder put his hand up in the dressing room for permission to speak. "Glenn Roeder wants to say something!" Michael Owen: "Shut up Roeder, can't you see Zog's on his phone?"

Goodbye and goodnight.

I would agree, that is why Joe is making noises about the squad being good enough bar the injuries. As UV has said, some of these are due back in a couple of weeks so there is virtually no chance of serious investment in the transfer market IMO. Where this leaves us wrt full backs I don't know but I would imagine it means sell to buy without a doubt.

He's starting tonight. Fat chance. Only has-been's and journeymen are good enought to get a first team shirt at Newcastle

I hope these two foreign loans actually come off in 48 hrs, because if they don't I'd prefer it if Kinnear kept his trap shut until he knew one way or the other. -
If that was the case then he wouldn't have ended his argument with this: If that's not an encouragement to make do and mend I don't know what is.
-
Why? Jk doesn't pick him in midfield unless we have a couple of players missing, so I'm pretty sure he is one of the players Kinnear could stand to lose, especially as he's one of the few who other clubs will pay decent money for.

Have a hug. Llambias is the source of all the trouble. Whilst Ashley should be getting more involved, its the gimp he has sitting in the chairman seat that should be running things and sorting things out. Ashley is at fault for appointing him and failing to sack him as he is sitting at home whilst everything is falling down around him, but I dont blame him entirely for everything thats happening (or not happening more likely). This is the same sort of apologist stuff we used to (and still) hear from the Shepherd cheerleaders during Souness' reign of terror. If you make bad appointments you have to take some responsibility for them. If Lambiarse is doing a crap job then it was obviously a monumental fuck up to appoint him. Considering he was some sort of club magnate before he came here you would have to imagine Ashley saw someething in him that convinced him he would do a good job in football.
-
I think he'll end up at Tottenham if we get a good offer, they are the team in desperate need of a left winger.
-
Like the bit about telling Llambias to get off his arse and get into the office. The impression that our Chairman is a complete prick is hard to avoid.
-
Zog is going to have to play LB as Enrique is out. That means the two wide positions have to be taken by Duff and Jonas so I don't see how he can play Duff up front unless Edgar plays at RB and Geremi plays RW. That would mean playing two players out of position just to avoid Xisco starting.
-
Shola out surely now Xisco will play. I doubt it. I think he'll probably play Duff behind Owen with maybe Lua Lua on the right, or just Ryan Donaldson alongside Owen. Maybe he should pay a few quid to some dodgy character to nobble Xisco just to be on the safe side?

Unless he and his agent are lying, then the fact other clubs are talking to him means we have given him permission to look for another club, so why would he need to hand in a transfer request? Rubbish. Things haven't worked like that for the last 10 years. If ever. Then I guess we can look forward to the club reporting N'Zogbia's agent, Villa, Spurs and Lyon to the PL/UEFA, as it's a clear case of tapping up and we have the evidence in the form of direct quotes in print. You seem to be making something out of nothing tbh. Clubs ask agents about their players all the time, look at the comments from Geremi's agent yesterday. Ive had phone calls from Turkey and thats as far as its gone, Silkman told setanta.com. Ive had several calls, but as of yet nothing has been followed up. At this moment its a bit of a moot point because theres no offer as such. All weve had is would he be interested? or whats his salary? and what would be his transfer fee? Obviously this thing probably goes on regardless of the club giving permission, but it's tapping up unless the club has given permission first. End of. No agent with an ounce of intelligence would blatantly admit it to the press unless they were on safe ground and the club had given it's permission. Obviously Geremi has been told he can look for a new club too. People are slagging off N'Zogbia for looking for a transfer, and elbee was saying he should put in a transfer request. I'm just pointing out that unless his agent is completely stupid and is happy to openly flaunt the laws of the of the game, he has already been given permission to look for a new club. Absolutely correct. It's easy to make N'Zogbia the villain here, but he's never really been rated that highly at Newcastle, which is why he isn't in the first team unless there are injuries. I would imagine if we get a decent price we will sell without question.
-
It's not going to make that much difference with those lads out tbh. I'd move Geremi to RB and I suppose Shola or Xisco will play instead of Carroll: Given Geremi Colo Bassong Zog Duff Butt Guthrie Jonas Owen Shola/Xisco
-
The debt may be an issue. Best not mention that within earshot of the NUSC, according to their wisdom, going into debt is the way forward.
-
Abramovich is looking for the exit. He's not spending any more and hasn't been for some time now. The end is nigh and it couldn't happen to nicer club (snigger).
-
No player should be kept if his heart isn't in it, and that goes for Owen, Given and Zog. Every player has his price and as long as it is met he can go. He isn't rated that highly by the management here so of course he is going to think about leaving, don't know why people are so pissed off about it.
-
I'm still sticking with Smith. Geremi's a far better player but we need to weed out the dinosaurs from such an important area of the pitch.
-
The bolded bit is the only part that matters. If other clubs want him so badly they will pay the money or...yes you guessed it... fuck right off.

I hadn't even realised Quashie was still playing football.
