  1. It's not because he's a cunt he wants away either. We can't offer him 300k a week, Liverpool can. Most players are going to chase that sort of pay rise.
  2. We might still do that tbf. If we don't then questions need to be asked.
  3. No point in talking too much sense today tbh. I think folk would only wise up if PIF sold to the Americans then bought Man U and spent a fuckton of money straight off the bat with hallelujahs from the PL authorities.
  4. They are as far as I know. It's misleading to point to one player's wage as well, you have to consider the whole wage structure and what a massive pay rise means for the other players in the squad.
  5. Heard someone say that even though it was a tragedy, Liverpool will have more money to play with as a result with insurance money coming in for what was a player who had a fair share of injuries. It's worked against us.
  6. No one wants to say this out loud, but the way PSR is designed, it is the only way for us to operate until our revenue generation has doubled. It's a sickener with having the richest owners in the world, but it's what we signed up to.
  7. He might have communicated it for all we know. Or maybe all this has come about because Liverpool have suddenly thrown their hat in the ring.
  8. We need to do what Parish did, set a monstrous fee like £180m minimum. Then Isak can't complain we are holding him back.
  9. Would be the right approach but whether it would work is a different matter.
  10. At the end of the day that's the biggest card we hold. He still has 3 years left on his contract and we can't be bullied into a sale. Although I suspect Howe will not want him around if his head is elsewhere, then it's just a case of getting the biggest fee possible.
  11. How would you fix it? I don't think a 200k/week contract is going to do it if Liverpool can offer 300k.
  12. Speaking far too much sense here. The one caveat for me is that we have dealt with the leadership role badly. Once Eales was out of the picture he should have been replaced, or a temporary solution found which didn't involve Mitchell. But part of this has happened because IMO the club backed Howe and now he is left to carry the can once Mitchell has walked out.
  13. There's every chance this is agent driven, and he does need a new contract. No player likes losing out on a double your money contract offer. Question is whether we could even come close to what Liverpool can offer.
  14. This is the problem. Eales and Mitchell were at the helm, then once Eales has been diagnosed with blood cancer, why has it taken a year to replace him? It clearly hasn't worked him staying on until the torch is passed with Mitchell jumping ship at the start of the transfer window.
  15. Tbh if you have got a thigh injury, you would not want to be spending 13hrs on a plane. It might just be that you know.
  16. Would be funny if this is all it was and everyone was just losing their shit over nothing. Sadly Howe has added fuel to the fire with his quotes about transfer talk being unsettling for Isak.
  17. Feel you mate, wish I had stayed away from here this morning, would have got a shitload more done that's for sure.
  18. I think @Shearergol already said they don't have to sell this window to get PSR room, they could do it in January/nex summer as well.
  19. I could only really judge them properly if they were allowed to spend how we thought they would. If there was no PSR restrictions then there would be nowhere to hide. I always believed they want NUFC to be No 1, but without spending a lot of money on the squad it will obviously have to be a long term thing.
  20. Not sure about that like. If we could contemplate having Isak and Ekitike in our squad, I'm sure they could make room as well.
  21. I don't agree about the PSR situation, but aside from that the club have handled the leadership situation poorly. Eales should have been relieved of duty months ago so we would be ready for this window. To have Mitchell swan off just when the window opened was really poor.
  22. Again, we lost out on a lot of signings because we aren't able to compete with super clubs due to PSR. If players new they were joining the next Man City they would jump at it IMO.
