That sort of player is worth his weight in brass. I don't have a bad word to say about him, but I'm hoping we are growing as a club beyond what we were when Steve Bruce was manager. We want to keep progressing to the next level, our goal shouldn't be to keep happy players otherwise Jonjo and Ciaran Clark would still be here.
-
Not going to disagree with you, but only one of them is earning 130k, and his best attributes are significantly better than Joelinton's.
-
Klopp can't be compared to Rafa or Keegan so I don't know where the correlation is. Klopp has been unnecessarily disrespectful towards us since the takeover so he can get to fuck and so can his arse kissing fans/media.
-
I've always defended Joelinton, he's got a lot of attributes, but he's also pish in front of goal. It might be he's looking to run down his contract and get a big pay day wherever he can. We'll have to weigh that up with getting a decent fee for him and investing that in another player. I don't think he's top level so he won't command top level wages IMO.
-
Yeah I already said he's got a contract and he can sit it out if he wants to in an earlier post. He has to look after his own interests and we have to look after ours. No other club is going to pay us £30m for him so pardon me for hoping he can be persuaded with some extra padding to his Saudi pay packet.
-
You clearly don't mate.
-
He's probably just passing on the stuff we want to put out publicly, hardly means we aren't doing stuff behind the scenes.
-
If we want to be seen as ambitious and not soft touches, then I would like to think so. Of course he has his contract and if he really doesn't want to go, then he can just say no, but that doesn't mean we won't be upgrading him.
-
For the rest of the season more like. The Sky Sports team should be wearing them as well.
-
Thank fuck for that.
-
I'm glad he's saying it. Some of these players were joke figures at one time, just because Howe has got the best out of them doesn't mean they are now suddenly elite level. Of course we want them to stay, but if we can get better players on that money then do it.
-
How hard could it be to persuade a player to go to Saudi? Probably just his agent trying to squeeze a few extra riyal to play ball. IF the deal doesn't go through, then we can say it's been handled badly, but really I think we've made it pretty clear it's time for him to move on.
-
Anfield (and therefore the whole of English media) will be like a wake for the next 6 months. Feels like now might be a good time to take a year out and travel round the world.
-
I think Miggy's used his left foot to kick this deal in the knackers.
-
You would think this was pretty simple to conclude and the logic not that hard to grasp. I get that in an ideal world we'd like to keep them all, but in reality we are forced to trade to comply with the rules. We are one of the few clubs who don't even need to turn a profit, that's the irony of it.
-
Other than Murphy and maybe Gordon when Barnes returns. So we do kinda.
-
If we were offering them up then I'm sure we'd have sold a 33 year old Trippier to Bayern for £13m. If we sell Miggy for £30m I'm sure no one is going to complain TOO much. Wislon ditto, he's a crock, although that's actually the most risky one since it would leave us with one striker.
-
I know he's a crock but if he goes to West Ham you'd have to think we've strengthened their chances of Europa CL while weakening ours. Especially after they got Phillips as well.
-
Yes I already mentioned in a previous post we might be considering chucking Joe White or Alfie Harrison into matchday squads as an option. We can only buy if we sell, and as of now, it doesn't look like happening.
-
We can thumb our noses all we like at the media, still doesn't change the likelihood we're fucked if Bruno is out for even a few games. Unless we really are just writing the season off.
-
There seems to be conflicting views on Onana, I'd be happy to leave that up to our recruitment team to make the decision on that, find it hard to believe Howe would approve signing a donkey. As things stand though, no one is coming in, certainly not a players over £30m.
-
That was always the biggest concern, we are down to our bare bones in midfield, I did think we would do whatever it took to get someone in. If Bruno is out through suspension or injury I could see it having an adverse affect on Longstaff as well as he would be under pressure to step up.
-
Don't think there'll be any incomings as things stands, Trippier's staying and so is Miggy by the looks of it. Maybe we'll play Joe White or Alfie Harrison in midfield if Bruno is is out.
-
Oh well. Maybe some Spanish club will offer us £30m for him.
-
Trippier hasn't gone yet, and I think Bayern are more likely to sack Tuchel than up their bid. They are probably getting fed up of him pushing for PL players over 30.
