I love how you assume you know what other people think. The 2 posts I quoted specifically complained about NUSC being "dedicated to getting Ashley out" and being a "small Ashley out pressure group". I merely suggested forming a counter group to get their views across. This would obviously be a popular group as "most fans do NOT think Ashley was killing the club" so would naturally want him to stay, and surely some would feel strongly enough about it to plan some pro-Ashley action knowing how easily swayed he is by popular opinion. He's probably claiming 'constructive dismissal' rather than unfair - meaning that he was left with no option but to resign. He was 'forced out'... That's what I thought, would make more sense. If this story is genuine and true in the first place. Yeah, don't know the details of what defence the club would be likely to go with on that - probably that (as their statement said) they did everything they could to resolve matters and help Keegan to stay on. Might be difficult for Keegan if the agreement that he would have 'full control' was decided in chats with Ashley and Mort rather than written in his contract. If it was written in his contract the club deserve whatever is coming to them I suppose. Hasn't it been mentioned that Keegan's legal team will use quotes from the matchday programme to back his case that he had full control of signings in or out? Well they'll have to give him the job I would think, therefore the claim would become redundant. Sounds like fantastic news to me. New owners with links to the fans are buying the club, Keegan or Shearer must surely be managers in waiting with plenty of money to spend in the transfer market. FFS just tell the truth. How can we believe anything they say when they contradict each other every week. Why isn't it attractive? The selling price is all the buyer has to pay, they can choose their own manager and basically take the club any direction they want.

What I meant was that theres been so much BS surrounding all of this, theres no good reason why I should implicitly believe or trust Harris because of some notion of him being a reputable man. He works for an investment company - I wouldn't automatically trust such a person if they told me 2+2 =4. He may be telling the truth but even last week Kinnear said that he'd been told Ashley was talking to people. You seem to know a lot about investment and finance. Why not get the NUSC to contact some well-placed people who can put their services forward instead of Seymour Pierce? Or even some trusted analysts who can confirm your suspicions?

I think there was genuine interest but the economic uncertainty at the moment has meant no one is willing to pay premium price for Newcastle, and it looks like Ashley doesn't want to drop his price enough to get the deal done.

By showing no support or confidence in his manager or to intervene he has effectively allowed this all to happen so pardon me when I don't thank him for appointing an interim manager, a decision that was only brought about because of some players kicking off anyway. Are you ITK. What did he do? How many times do people have to be told this? Jimenez was the negotiator, and Vetere is the scout. All was made pretty clear by the job titles and their respective CVs where Vetere was a scout for Real Madrid, and Jimenez was a freelance superagent. So the article was bunkum. He didn't fly around the world sourcing talent, none of that shit. He was simply the negotiator. I thinks you need to write some strongly worded letters to the editors then. I think James is probably right though. Vetere's expertise was always described from the start as mainly being scouting, while Jiminez was the dealmaker. I don't know if there was some overlap, but it's probably just lazy journalism.

I see there are quite a few anti-Ashley posters on other boards starting to admit they are relieved we should be ok during the financial meltdown because Ashley used his own cash to clear the debt leaving in us a fairly healthy position compared to the likes of Man U even. The OP might need to be re-considered in light of this fact

The yanks have been in about 18 months, so they havent backed him with 80 million, infact they havent spent a penny of there own money, they have borrowed money, and are trying to re morgage that loan, meaning each season we have to make 30 million, before we have payed the annual intrest on the loans off. So as I suspected, the Liverpool fans don't like the fact that the club has been put into debt to finance squad strengthening. I wonder how our fans feel about the Liverpool fans attitude, seeing as many have criticised Ashley for not putting us into debt to finance big spending on proven quality players as we did under the previous board? The thing is its main debt die to them buying the club,imagine if some south africans bought Newcastle for 300 million, with a loan, which they secured against Newcastle. And then said oh by the way we have no money. It could still happen although not likely due to the current financial climate.
