  1. No, in fact we are miles apart. While you and FOOTSOLDIER are intent on looking at the negative qualities of said players, I am prepared to look at the positive, i.e, Shola's local links, recent goals record, running ability, etc... Luque's undoubted class, finishing ability, and the rest. You and Footsoldier are in agreement also, correct?
  2. HTL wants response to footsoldiers comments so let me oblige. Ameobi has played 200 matches, true - but quite a few of those have been from the subs bench or out wide. I would argue that his contribution is anything but poor in matches. He has won us a fair few pens and free kicks running at defenders and his recent goalscoring record has been ok. He's not a top class striker by any means but a useful squad player IMO. Luque on the other hand is clearly a high class player, anyone who saw his goal will appreciate that except for the most blinkered. looks to me like he doesn't fancy English football though which makes him an expensive luxury.
  3. I could definitely see him doing a job in the Intertoto, and with our injury list we might still get some return from his signing. I think we'll end up selling at a big loss though.
  4. From what I've seen, Luque looks real quality, but doesn't seem to fancy the Premier league much. Funnily enough, I think he'd shine much better with the type of football we are playing now under Roeder, but he doesn't seem to fancy him much. If he goes back to the continent I reckon he'll look much better because the football is played mostly on the deck there.
  5. These could also be accurately described as the actions of a clueless fat b******d
  6. Roeder might well get a job somewhere else and go on to do an amazing job. But there's no way a Man U, Arsenal or Chelsea would offer him one because it would be a massive gamble and Roeder is still unproven (good recent run not withstanding). Only a fool would take such a massive gamble at a big club. A fat fool perhaps.
  7. Considering FFS has gone on record as saying this time the appointment HAS to be right, I don't see how he could possibly offer Roeder the job, no matter how well he has done as a caretaker. O'Neill, Allardyce and Hughes are the outstanding candidates from the prem. If they don't want it, that's another matter but to give Roeder such a massive job based on a good run of matches would show fat Fred up at his feckless worst.
