Yeah, for a target man, he didn't hold the ball up very well. Joelinton used to get pelters when he was playing as a striker, but he was a lot more involved in build up play.

Problem is, it puts our fate in Man U's hands if they pretend they might do a deal on the last day, then at the last minute tell us, actually no deal. Ha Ha. We should have told them today or you can keep him. Go for someone else with a bit of pace and an eye for goal.

Problem for me is I just saw very little connection between Wood and the other two forwards, there was very little interplay. It was almost like watching a Pardew team where you had Cisse totally isolated. You can't really use Cambridge as a barometer as they had 3rd division defenders.

Can't see them paying what we were quoted. Probably just his agent hawking him around again. But if they are ready to pay, then we should top it and bring him here. Use them as a benchmark for a fair price.

I'm happy enough to sign him, coming to the end of his contract we should get a decent deal, but he would be one for the future. By all means sign him, but we still need the finished version. i.e a proven striker with pace to keep us up.

Yeah, you could describe it as an underwhelming window, or you could equally describe it as quite a shrewd one. Hopefully enough to keep us up while keeping our powder dry for the summer.

I'd also be surprised if Arsenal wanted to give us any players on loan after we've just stolen Bruno from under their noses. Unless they don't rate Nketiah much.

Yeah I said the same thing, Bruno really likes to thread those balls between the lines into dangerous areas, that's why Zapata had me drooling at the prospect of him linking up with him. So can definitely see the logic in Nketiah from that POV.

I think that's the profile we'll be looking for, maybe we would have preferred someone a bit more proven though. I guess we will be thinking we've got Wilson coming back at some point as well though.

Some of his decisions have puzzled me when it comes to team selections, but one thing which has been encouraging is we don't look wide open at the back even though we are pushing a bit further up the pitch collectively. Most of our goals have been individual errors rather than poor organisation. If we can survive this season I think we'll see what he's really made of next time round. Maybe he'll be good enough, maybe not, but I am really enjoying having a manager who I don't feel embarrassed is representing us. He's a great ambassador for NUFC.

Wood hasn't scored goals this season though, and while I saw plenty of movement in his highlight videos, not seen much sign of it in his two games for us. He looks lethargic and clumsy.

That's what I would like to see eventually as well, don't mind Shelvey either as long as there are two high horsepower midfielders in there with him, and both Joe and Bruno should provide that. But Willock would be a better fit if he can improve his ball retention, he'd fill that gap between midfield and forwards.

I can see why Howe is keen on him tbh, think he'd provide a missing link in our team, especially with Bruno looking for those passes into the channels, but there has to be better alternatives for the money. We'd probably get him for a reasonable fee on deadline day, but would you really want to rely on Man U co-operating at the death?
