Agree. I thought the fee was quite low, but a lot depends on how we spend the money. If we get that right instead of spectacularly wrong like last summer, then it can still be a good deal. That does put the focus on Ross Wilson now though. He's negotiated a quick deal to get it done. Now he has to use that money wisely.

Find it hard to be too bitter about it if they are leaving tbh, they both gave it a good crack here. She was really positive about the move and if she wants to bring the baby up at home it's not a massive surprise. I just don't see how we get what he's worth from an Italian club, so not sure he he will move back permanently with her.
-
Yeah weird that he would end his association with Bournemouth without having something lined up. I had assumed Liverpool would be the logical choice but they have kept it quiet if that's the move.

Been saying the same ever since it was rumoured we would sell. I don't mind selling simply because that's what we have to do. But I hope we don't price him too low. Whenever we go after a player it always seems to be £60m+ for some unproven no mark.

I think he just didn't suit our way of playing under Howe where you get a lot less time and space because we were playing high intensity, quick turnover football. For Forest and England, he is operating deeper with time to move the ball forward in space. His technique under pressure doesn't get tested as much. He's looked good for them mind, might just need a different type of set up to thrive.

Get the feeling Iraola would rather stay in England if he got the right club. I think the pace of the game suits his style more.

That one will take some unravelling.

I always use the league as a true marker of the season, as cup competitions are a bit like World Cup qualification groups. There are some hard games along the way, but a lot of dross where you can pad the numbers. The league has been disastrous as far as I'm concerned. The results have been bad and the performances have matched them. Players look to have lost belief in the project and we have the better ones looking for a way out.

Sounds like we are probably going to go with the same strike force next season unless we get unlikely buyers for Wissa or Woltemade.
-
There's probably a more complex reason for this tbf, might have something to do with our shape, tactics, possession or any number of factors.
-
Fair enough, perhaps some hyperbole if you want to deconstruct it rationally. I will rephrase it as an unfortunate but slight stain on his legacy.
-
Losing both derby matches in one season to a team that probably cost less than our bench.
-
If we'd made the CL we wouldn't even be considering it. I don't want to sell him but we have to become good sellers at some point. The alternative is to just keep all our players until they go for nothing and we don't have money for replacements.
-
He'd probably be more suited as a replacement for Bruno rather than Tonali.
-
I tuned in for a bit to see how he looked in the play offs but he didn't really get much of a kick as he came on late. From the small bits I've seen, he looks a technically adept player, but not sure he fits the athlete mode. Could be wrong though.
-
Mate there were people claiming it would be the defining moment of the season as far him keeping the job was concerned. I don't agree with it, but to underplay it isn't doing anyone any favours.
-
What....losing home and away to your local rivals has nothing to do with Eddie Howe? He should just have let Tindall pick the team and take training for a week then and put his feet up and watched Sky Sports instead of attending the game then.
-
He's probably put the nail in the coffin of any move to Fulham with that performance tbh.
-
If we are monitoring this thread we only have ourselves to blame!
-
It's a massive stain on Howe's NUFC career though. I hope he's got what it takes to get the better of their manager next time round, because he certainly fucked it royally this season.

We'll only really find out if City take the PL to High Court for anti-competitive practice. That is why I am hoping the PL keep backing them against a wall so eventually they have to come firing back with the canons. Unfortunately I am no longer sure the Saudis see us as a vanity project, so even if they were allowed to pump millions into making us a top team, would they bother?
-
They might if refs crack down on wrestling in the penalty area on set pieces.

Good footballers and not just good athletes. Gold.

Let me be clear, I don't want to sell Barnes, I think he should have been used more if anything. But if we are serious about selling players before they start losing value, then it's something we have to do. He's 28, the offers will only be downhill from here.

I personally think the DOF/CEO didn't really have any plans in place for a replacement, they probably figured we'd finish the season better than we have once out of Europe. There is also the risk of bringing in a new manager which doesn't fix things, and everyone would be kicking off that we got rid of a successful manager to bring in worse. It would take big balls to make such a call, so I can understand why they hedged their bets. Hopefully Wilson will be buying players that he/Suds have prioritised and Howe will have less input. That way, even if he can't make it work, the new manager should be able to work with what he's got for a possession based style.
