Football really is bolloxed like.

Fascinating stuff this, lads.

We've largely been fairly shite IMO but four points and through in the cup is a really good return. If we can somehow snake a win on Sunday and go into the break with that it will be incredible, even a point would be very solid. Do feel we need a signing or two though, if we're truly working off Howe's targets and Mitchell doesn't get anything done then I do feel it doesn't bode well for their future working relationship.
-
Nearly impossible to not start him Sunday, looks by far the sharpest of our front players. Looked decent on the right, too...
-
Delighted for him. Not a huge fan of his game by any means but he can't help his limitations and clearly gives his all, fantastic for him to have a moment like that
-
The flat three really isolates him at times, Willock is the only one who really bridges it well. That said, Isak has looked ponderous on the ball today IMO.

Krafth with some of the worst movement I've ever seen there when it went back to Pope. Broke his arse trying to get behind the attacker and remove himself from a position for Pope to play a simple pass to him
-
Fuck man, it must be so fucking hard to put all that work in and then that happens
-
This ref might be a bit shite like

Oh it's clearly what you were saying Deuce, you cunt. I'll glass you.

It was @gbandit who called them a nothing club, IIRC? Despicable carry on, really. He can find you a traitor, no problem. But don't ask him to find you some humility.

I believe the bid was 8m? Selling him for that and signing a 40m player on the same wages as Almiron would essentially be a break even for the upcoming season. I suspect we could have brought in someone better than him for that kind of money. And yes, we'd have to pay another 8m every year for the next five seasons fit that signing in the above scenario, but we're going to have to buy someone next summer and do that anyway, with the fairly realistic chance we'll be stuck with Almiron and his even less attractive wages for a potential buyer when he's a year older. In essence, we've seemingly decided to roll with Almiron for another year rather than address the RW position.
-
Turning down that bid for Almiron from Charlotte looks mental. Chance to get something for him and get him off the wage bill. Hopefully he'll have a good year, otherwise it's not hard to imagine a scenario where we're just stuck with him next season too while we wait for his contract to run out in 2026.

I mean it was your suggestion initially, dickhead

Friday night, isn't it? I'm out at a party, fucking dreading coming on here if we don't have a good week
-
The way this summer has gone we'd probably end up signing someone if we tried to do a smokescreen.
-
Would be quite up for this, we've loads of keepers but other than Pope they're all shite.
-
Aye, point remains that we could have moved him on and chose not to. Maybe we're confident that someone will come along and offer more this week, if not I suspect any money we get for him next year will be less than whatever they offered and it's going to look like a poor decision not taking what we could get.
-
He'd agreed to go to Charlotte and we turned down the bid, I thought?

I'm all for not buying for the sake of it in positions we have decent options in. But rolling with Almiron and Murphy as the RW options for the season is insanity, like. Honestly, finding a player who is a significant upgrade on either of them shouldn't even be that expensive. And yeah, I get that we can play Gordon right and Barnes left but even if we do that going into the season with two PL quality wingers is just throwing away points. We saw today the value of having players who can change a game from the bench, if we need a spark throwing on Almiron or Murphy isn't going to achieve anything.
