You're so close to scoring a huge win here man, keep the pressure on for an answer and then rub it in his face. That's what this is all about.

This is the whole point of Mitchell. You trust he sees the qualities in this lad to develop into a quality player. Seems right up Eddie's street too, in terms of his physical profile. Not sure what this means for Wilson, hope we still move him on if there's a chance to get any sort of decent money.

FWIW I've a friend from Turkey (named Emre, funnily enough) who is hugely into football and he's been of the opinion since last summer that the Madrid move was too early for Guler. Top talent but a couple of years of having the team built around him would have been better than going to Madrid and trying to work his way into one. Anyway, hard to see any way that Madrid let him go. Maybe a loan.

On paper Gordon, Isak and Barnes is a really good front three. The issue is that after those three the drop off is massive. We need better players, not just to rotate the starting lineup but to give Eddie the ability to impact the game with his subs, not just sending on extremely limited players who will put in a shift when the good players get tired.
-
It's strange because I'd be confident he could play at a high level next season if he stayed. Thing is that Livramento is good enough that he needs to be playing every game as first choice in his best position.
-
Think CB and RW are essential, we have holes in those positions in our squad right now. I think in an ideal world we'll sell Wilson and Almiron and bring in a player who can provide depth in both of their positions. If we can't move them on, that addition may be delayed until next summer. I think we will once the market warms up a bit, but it'll be later in the window.

I mean, Kelly hasn't kicked a ball for us so I'm not sure why he'd be above Hall in the pecking order as of right now either. Agree with your general point though, there's a fair chance Kelly will be seen as as deluxe version of what Burn was at LB, being more capable of holding his own when getting forward but still offering the extra defensive quality that you maybe don't get with Hall there. Could see Eddie maybe viewing Hall as a LCM in his system.
-
Still got a nagging worry that Eddie wants a LB that will act as more of a third CB. We've played a lot of really great stuff with that system so it would be hard to argue with it if he wants to keep at it with Kelly as an upgrade on Burn. If we do intend to play Hall and Tino as attacking full backs then it will require some tweaks elsewhere.

Nah fuck you Prophet, find us tastier scraps please.

If he's the most exciting signing we make this summer then I'd be a bit disappointed but as the versatile forward in addition to a marquee RW (Simons in my example, who's not a pure RW by any means but it would be a role he'd play quite a lot) he'd be an excellent addition IMO.

Xavi Simons Antonio Silva Bryan Mbuemo I'd be happy with that, like.

Agree to a meeting. Send Joelinton with a shovel.

I think we need a first choice RW. Even with no outgoings it's a very clear, massive hole in our squad in terms of quality. Think the ideal scenario is we sell Wilson and Almiron and then bring in one player who covers both of them as backups. Gordon - Isak - New RW as the starting three. Barnes and the versatile forward as primary reserves and rotation options. Murphy as a backup, we also have the option to play Joelinton LW if needed. Wilson and Almiron staying would negate the need for the versatile backup but it'll be out last chance to get money for them and if we bring in a versatile young player that's a much better long term asset.
-
Frustrating but I do wonder if we'll have to play the waiting game for our RW. If we intend to shop at the top end of the market, it'll be players that may want to see if better offers materialise. It's happened already with Olise, Nico Williams also seems to be out of reach. I'd imagine both were high on our list. Ultimately though, only a certain number of better positioned clubs are going to be in the market for these players. Are we likely to get an Olmo or Simons? No, but they're not completely pie in the sky either IMO and if we think there's a chance waiting for them rather than pouncing on someone like Mbuemo just because we can get him now is the right move.
-
It's obviously more important we get the right player but I do hope that if it's at all possible we get our new RW through the door sooner rather than later. Would love him to be bedded in and ready to go for the Southampton opening game. Feels like the other additions will likely be bedded in slowly.
-
We wouldn't be buying him to start though. Word seems to be we want a first choice RW and a young versatile striker. Pretty sure we'd be buying Gnonto as the latter.
-
Gnonto makes sense as he can play up front but also on the wing. Not just a pure backup to Isak, which is the issue with keeping Wilson. Young enough where he'll be alright with not being first choice too.
-
Honestly the main reason I didn't want England to win was that Southgate clearly got the huff that Gordon didn't lick his arse in the press and froze him out for the rest of the tournament. Hope he comes back pissed off and fucks the entire league up the arse all season.
-
Simons is another that will likely have better options but encouraging if we are asking about him, worth pursuing even if it's only a small chance.
-
Are we sure? He didn't look that weird
-
Presume he'd partner Schar this year with Botman likely to be slow to get back up to speed.

You wanna take this outside, mate?

For the record it's a forum in joke from a post someone made when the musician Prince died. And I actually didn't know she had a medical condition, so for that aspect of the post I do apologise.
