  1. Just been really good this. Mitro and Perez help so much, both of them show for the ball and are actually capable of receiving it.
  2. Are we doing that minute long applause for the rest of all time then or what's the plan?
  3. Hazard started screaming before the contact. Cunt. We've been good. A proper left back and a good CM in for one of the nothing brothers and we'd have an interesting team.
  4. Wijnaldum looked sluggish there, was space to attack and he just did nothing.
  5. Could desperately do with a real left back, Wij cutting infield is creating a lot of room. Perez us class man, shields it so well. He and Mitro has potential.
  6. Pisses me off we extended his deal. Been watching him deteriorate for years, can only imagine how shite he'll be by the end of next season.
  7. It's like how Lampard and Gerrard always looked shite together though. You need two midfielders who compliment each other, and I just can't see them doing that. Neither do Anita and Colback, of course, but nobody is disputing that those two are shite together.
  8. If we play Wijnaldum and Sissoko one of them is going to have to sit deep while we're attacking. You can't just throw all four midfielders forward. Not only does it leave us ridiculously vulnerable to a counter attack, it's not great for our attacking play as you've basically got too many men forward and nobody between defense and attack to get it to them. Asking Sissoko to play the holding role negates what is easily his best attribute, his energy bursting forward from midfield. Can't see him being anything other than an absolute trainwreck there. So that's out. Wij might be able to do a passable job there from a distribution POV, but I doubt he's ever played the role before so I'd imagine he'd probably struggle to take up good positions. On top of that, I reckon he'd be pretty fucked off being asked to play the role when it's clearly not his game. Just play one of them beside Anita, or better yet go Anita Sissoko Wijnaldum Thauvin Perez De Jong
  9. I don't think it's anyone's ideal choice but nonsensical is bullshit tbh considering the lineups we've witnessed so far. You're going to be asking one of them to play a role they're desperately unsuited to man. The solution to us being unable to score goals is to change the balance of our team, not just imbalance it in another way. Do you mean DM? Do we need a fucking DM at home to Watford like if our attacking line up consists of Aarons, Perez, De Jong and Thauvin? I don't think so. And that ignores the fact the two players we've asked to play it so far are shit anyways, for the most part. You need one of your CM's to be a bit more responsible, you can't just have them both go hell for leather bombing forward, you'll get caught on the break very easily and you'll struggle to build anything from the back as you've nobody in CM who can drop deep and get attacks started and nobody sitting deep to offer an option and recycle possession when attacks are looking like breaking down. I'm not talking about putting in a destroyer ala Tiote, but I really don't think you can just tell your entire midfield to just go out and attack. Can't think of any teams who do tbh. Problem isn't that we're playing with a sitter, the problem is that we're playing with two of them. Anita or (preferably) Colback, one of them has to go. But the answer isn't just putting out the most attacking lineup conceivable.

  11. Would like to see him in the role Colback is "playing" now, with a sitter behind him to hive him license to get forward and a #10 in front of him to get on the ball and pick out his runs forward. We desperately lack energy in CM, think he could give it to us. Opens up the right wing slot for Thauvin or Perez too.
  12. People are going a bit mental like, Sissoko and Wijnaldum as the two CMs is nonsensical.
  13. Broke down laughing at Cack Jogback. Brilliant.
  14. Krul Janmaat Mbemba Colo Haidara Wijnaldum Tiote Sissoko De Jong Thauvin Perez Sick of the sight of Cisse, Colback and even Anita tbh.

Going to give him some time, obviously two points from five games is very poor but it must be said that the fixture list has been a difficult one for a manager who's trying to completely change the way we play. However, there have been some incredibly worrying signs from him. Perez not playing is a joke. Obertan starting games ahead of him was nonsense and when Ayoze did get the start against Man U he looked good only to be dropped again for the Arsenal game. I'm excited about Thauvin but it really does seem that McClaren is playing favourites and Ayoze isn't on his list. First Obertan, now Thauvin. We'd also have been far better off starting Perez up top than persisting with Cisse, who is an absolutely atrocious lone striker. Guy needs to play against Watford. Extending Colo's contract still pisses me off too. We've basically handcuffed ourselves into an Mbemba-Colo partnership for the next two years, two players who are desperately ill-suited to playing together in this league. Should have let him go to Palace, he's done and is going to just linger around declining further over the next year or two. However Colback and Anita starting together in CM every game so far is by far the most alarming thing we've seen from him. Individually they're absolutely average footballers, very limited players who have glaring holes in their game. But as a partnership... fucking hell they're awful. Been completely bossed in every game we've played so far and I have no hope that they'll get better. What's worrying is that many people said that they should never play together, it seemed obvious that they'd be shite together. Yet he's picked them, and is now sticking with them. It's not like he has no other options either. Wijnaldum looks better suited to playing deeper, we could also put Sissoko back in CM. Both of these options would allow us to get a player like De Jong or Perez on the field. I really don't think he's going to change it any time soon either, which means I can't see us being much use as a team even when the supposedly easier fixtures come around. Needs to make some big decisions in the coming weeks.

The fact that Perez isn't playing from the start is embarrassing.
