  1. Disgrace if he plays. It's a fucking friendly FFS, shouldn't even be a debate about it.
  2. Nah, they're basically all the shite things about football rolled into one shitty football club. - Unlimited budget to try and buy success. - Negative, boring football style. - Overpaid bunch of wankers for a squad. Honestly would rather see Man United keep winning things than City, much as I've hated them over the years. At least that club has some sort of soul to it.

  4. Someone clearly faxed the FA a letter that simply read -------------------- -------------------- Naturally, this convenient "misunderstanding" just came straight to light in the ensuing minutes.
  5. .com does seem to reckon he wasn't booked against Chelsea and will be available for the Fulham game. Ideally wouldn't want him and Barton both out for the same game, so could be good news depending on how soon the FA decide to give Barton his 3 game ban.
  6. Fair point Skirge, he made a mistake right at the start of the Mackem game which gave them a great chance on the break. Had they taken advantage of that we'd have only won 5-2, which would have been disappointing. I'll put it down to getting used to the Premiership for now, not overly worried unless this becomes a habit and he's still doing it in a couple of months.
  7. Stupid from Barton. Yeah Pedersen goes down like a two-arsed poof but you can't go doing that and expect anything else in the modern game, unfortunately. 3 game ban, pretty much nailed on. Hopefully Routledge comes back into the team like he's got a point to prove and does well on the right against Fulham. We'll really miss Barton at Chelsea though.
  8. Didn't see the match, but we're going to have to get used to being a pretty direct team in general given the nature of our squad. We've got a hardworking, energetic midfield but no real guile or player who can constantly get on the ball and dictate the tempo from deep and allow us to play an expansive passing game. And up front it's not much better, nobody with the ability to come off the front and produce a bit of magic and open things up. Hard to blame Hughton for that, as he hasn't had the money to go and get a player like that and the one we did manage to bring in on loan, Ben Arfa, is sidelined. What we do have though is a big bastard who'll get something on most balls that are launched in his general direction and a couple of players in Sholan who have a knack for getting on the end of chances. Much as I would love to see us play some prettier football, I have hard time blaming Hughton for going with such an approach at this time. Blackburn are a terrible matchup for us in this regard, and yet it sounds like if it weren't for two individual blunders from our defense we'd still have gotten something from the game.
  9. It's a non-issue. Even a god-king can bleed.
  10. Considers himself British, I believe.
  11. Will definitely be interesting to see what happens. If Krul doesn't make any major mistakes before Harper gets back you really can't drop him, as others have said it sends a terrible message.
  12. Be a much better world if Celtic and Rangers just ceased to exist overnight. Two buckets of scum football clubs who bring nothing positive to the game, fucking hate everything about the 'Old Firm'.
  13. Someone in the Seoul municipal government decided several years ago that the City would look nicer if we got rid of all the rubbish bins. Eventually people realized that it was a terrible idea and started putting some back. Still not enough though. Said person has now moved up to a bigger job, btw. Guess who. Is it that President that nobody likes?
  14. Seen a couple of Celtic shirts since I've been in Korea tbh, some Koreans were kicking a ball around in a park I was in and they had them on. The amount of focus on Park and Lee is a bit mad here I must say, couple of times I've been in a restaurant or pub and there's been highlights of just those two players being played on a loop on the TV. Was class before the Sunderland game, they had a highlights package for Park from a recent game. Loads of clips of him scuffing shots wide or losing the ball. Most people here that I've met don't really seem to care or know much about the Premiership at all tbh, certainly in the case of my students anyway. They all seem to like football but you never see them in jerseys and they generally look blankly at me when I try to talk to them about recent games and the like. (yes Tooj, they can understand me just fine btw.) Oldtype, what's the logic behind there being no rubbish bins in Korea btw?
  15. Glenn Roeder thinks that Glenn Roeder doesn't like the above comments about Glenn Roeder.
  16. You'd really rest the CB's though? Possibly one of the best runs of form we've seen from a NUFC CB tandem in years and you want to go and split them up for the next couple of games? The midfielders and strikers I can see some argument for (only if they're absolutely knackered though, which I still doubt) because there's a lot more running involved, but how often do teams rest CB's due to fatigue? We also don't have any more midweek matches after this one until the Christmas break, no way we should be getting horribly fatigued unless there's something drastically wrong with our fitness regime. If there were games in midweek all the time then of course you'd have a point. But there aren't, so you don't.
  17. Anyone tries to turn Carroll's head and they'll get fucking decked, to be honest.
  18. By the way, when I saw these two posts in a row... I burst out laughing at the thought that the next post would be Dave saying "What a wonderful debate." Alas, it was not to be.
  19. Not sure which of those is worse.
  20. Nolan is the only one I can imagine might be struggling with his fitness. But unless he's absolutely knackered then you start him. Barton and Jonas have always had tremendous engines, saw nothing on Sunday to make me think there might be an issue with either of them. Shola only started to actually get into the starting XI a couple of weeks ago, he should be grand as well. If there's somebody on the team that you don't think can go for 60 minutes then you make some changes, yeah, but I really doubt that's the case. The idea of resting CB's is so ridiculous I have to assume Apisith was on the wind-up.
  21. Apisith... http://i583.photobucket.com/albums/ss274/Darkraven909/Not_sure_if_serious.jpg
  22. He's great in that he's very, very reliable. Never going to be a liability to you, he'll work hard and put in his shift defensively and never stop looking to get involved. Love the way we play these days, every last man on the pitch gives his all. Been a while since we had that, it's great having a team you can be proud of out there. Would love to see what this XI could do with a Bellamyesque sort of striker on the pitch instead of Shola. Harsh on Shola to say because he's been good, but someone with that touch of real class and pace playing off Carroll would cause all sorts of problems in this team.
  23. Anyone suggesting that we change the starting XI is a cunt, quite frankly.
