Limited footballer that shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a squad player moving forward, would start Taylor ahead of him every time given the choice. Decent backup if he's happy to be a squad player though.

I wouldn't be too thrilled with the idea of spending our limited funds on a 4th choice CB, but you have to figure if we bring him in that they think he has the potential to eventually force his way into the first team and be more than just a reserve. Ideally we'd get in a quality striker, but would rather spend the money on a CB with long term value to us than on a striker who we'll need to upgrade on in the summer. Still would like Keane on loan for the rest of the year if at all possible.

Jonas is a terrible crosser of the ball though, at least playing on the left he is at least some sort of threat to cut inside and run at the heart of the opposition defense with the ball on his stronger side.

Put in a decent shift yesterday to be fair to him, still don't see anything to suggest he's got anything significant to offer us at this level though. Problem with him is that he doesn't have anything in his game that really worries teams, no standout quality that has to be accounted for. Better than some of the other options we have at the moment though, for sure.

Had forgotten about that tackle against Everton, was horrendous. Still, have to eat a bit of humble pie in regards to Nolan. Smith should never play for us again, even at a reserve level. I'm going to go ahead and say he's the worst player we've ever had in my time supporting the club. Not only does he offer nothing positive to the team, he actually assists the opposition with his constant stupid fouls and destruction of our attacking play. I genuinely think we'd do better with 10 men on the field against Sunderland than with this amped up tosser snarling his miserable way around the field. Hope he contracts a very serious illness during the week and is unavaliable for selection, because I have no faith in Pardew leaving him out, even after that horrendous display against Stevenage.

No way it gets overturned like. Sure the end result was that he gets the ball and the opposition player walks away just fine, but it's a pretty wild lunge with two feet up and studs showing. It's the kind of tackle that can end up seriously hurting people if mistimed only slightly, just because Tiote executed it to perfection this time doesn't mean the FA are going to let him off.
