You said that at the end of last January too. This time I'm right though yes? If we're panicking now, with the best manager and squad in the league and an excellent position in the table then it just seems like it's a permanent state of affairs. Of course fans always want more players but logicially it's always going to be hard to sign the right people for the reasons we all know about. Getting top-half PL players to join a championship team (in January) has to be one of the toughest transfer tasks around. We're never going to have two Gayles or two Shelveys. It's brilliant we've got one. best manager and squad, yet not best position in the league.... I'm not asking for two Gayles and two Shelveys, but we have no-one in the midfield anywhere near Shelvey in style or quality, and it will cost us if he can't play every game.

I guess I just missed the part where we got promoted already. We should sack Andros off asap, no matter what Rafa wants.
-
He also wore that awful T-shirt

classic Ian W. #wait

Probably not. But why risk it? There is a huge drop off when Colback plays. He's not the same type of midfielder as Shelvey, and we have no-one else who is. And this is ignoring the fact that he's dogshit at his natural role too.

Haven't they both just been injured/banned? Aye and look how awful we looked without Shelvey. If we were to lose him for a lengthy spell then I would have major doubts about us. Same with Gayle. Murphy is doing a job right now but whether he would be able to keep it up with limited service for a lengthy period of time would again be questionable. Oh, you mean if we lose them both for the rest of the season? What I'm getting at is that we have lost Shelvey for quite a while and we're still comfortably in automatic promotion. Aye, if we we're to lose them for a large number of games then i'm not sure we would have the team to consistently pick up results. We may still be in the top 2 but we won only 2 of the 5 games and we didn't look convincing in any of them. I'd simply feel a lot more confident if we got Townsend in but what will be will be. Was 2 in 4, not 2 in 5 to be fair. Unless you count Birmingham where he likely wouldn't have played anyway So whether through suspension or not, when Shelvey doesn't play, we are far worse as a team. If our form without him was stretched to the end of the season, it would lead to us not being in the top 2. Playoffs anyone?
-
Silly PL football inflation must be accounted for though. It generally outweighs both form and age.
-
We also lost at home to 5th, 6th and 23rd. All teams involved will lose some games, including ourselves. Some teams will go on good runs of form. Our form right now is something like 6th or 7th in the league. If it continues as such, we won't finish in the top 2. If anything happens to Shelvey, we're screwed. We need to push on, but we're clearly not arsed about doing so. It's a very dangerous game. As it stands, I imagine we'll finish 2nd, but I'd be much happier if we strengthened and fought for 1st.
-
We'll need some luck to be a Premier League club in 6 months time if we don't strengthen our squad. Anything happens to Shelvey and we're fucked.
-
Plenty of these players will have to play in the league if we fail to strengthen...
-
If we continue our form from our last 10 games, we will be fortunate to finish in the top 2, never mind top. Signing Townsend and a CM would be an important step in strengthening the squad for the second half of the season, allowing us to actually push on, but instead, meh we'll be fine.

He's a footballer. A better footballer than the ones we have. Most of them are thick cunts, and most of them would've left had they had an offer to do so.
-
Our strength in depth doesn't allow us to be 'meh' about this imo. Without another 2-3 bodies, we're going to need to be pretty lucky with injuries to be consistent enough to win this league. Not that I want us to bend over backwards for Andros Townsend like. Although my assumption is that we're most likely the ones playing "hardball" aka "being cunts".

If people really gave a fuck in the first place they'd be donating their own money to charities/hospitals and not funnelling their money into their stupid football clubs. But they don't really give a shit. They just want to be seen to be giving a shit. Bet you ten million quid that this fucker didn't donate his next ticket money to "Frankie".

It's not going to be called the Cadbury Premier League man. It's just a partnership. Premier League isn't doing the renaming thing anymore, as they worked out they could get far more sponsorship deals without it.
