  1. LAW 14: THE PENALTY KICK Indirect FK if wrong player deliberately takes the penalty (+ YC to player who took the kick) Indirect FK if ball kicked backwards If 'illegal' feinting occurs it is always an indirect FK (and YC to the kicker)
  2. :smitten: "Many coaches are convinced to invent football on the pretext that they are looking for a system to block the opponent," Ben Arfa told France Football. "But this is not in the essence of football, with Mourinho and Simeone." "It is the antithesis of [former Ajax and Barcelona coach Johan] Cruyff and his freedom, and with them there is no longer room for pleasure." "There is no more spectacle, to the point that football interests me much less. I do not find pleasure watching matches. Even in Ligue 1, we kill football." "Cristiano Ronaldo, he does not give me any emotion," the former Nice man said. "He is predictable." http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2017/04/04/34301712/simeone-and-mourinho-are-killing-football-ben-arfa-takes-aim

Personally I'm offended that people are offended at people getting offended. Probably my biggest hate in today's world.
  4. The two are inextricably linked though, and that's commonly been the problem under Ashley. January suggests even after all we've been through and the calibre of manager in the dugout they still think they know best. In the summer we'll have plenty to spend (a frankly ludicrous amount tbh), there are no excuses for failing to back the manager, scouts or whoever. Obviously we don't need to spend £100m if we pick up a handful of bargains/overachievers, and show intent to improve our squad significantly. When people reference spending X amount of money, it's a general figure guided by the current transfer market. I don't think people are saying they're going to be fucked off if we only spend a tenner, but end up with Messi Suarez and Neymar up front.
  5. That would just about get us fighting for a European place. We probably need to spend a 100m not to be fighting relegation. your probs right- but I doubt Ashley allow more than a £20-£30m net spend. I hope you're wrong because we'll be spending our season in a relegation battle if that's the case.
  6. magnificent bastard of a cross. Fucking Gestede.
  7. Well, Dummett has had a good season and Gouffran is relatively harmless. So only really Colback could be a major objection. Gouffran is harmless? We have an actual winger on the bench, but at home to Wigan, we still opt with harmless.
  8. What would you have picked today? ...At least two of Atsu/Hayden/Perez/Mitro?

  10. Anyone posted this cringefest yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUuv12kkzz0
  11. I mean, with the existing 3.5 CONCACAF teams, Panama have a reasonable chance. With 6 fucking teams they're nailed on to qualify. You're going to have Guatemala and Canada on the brink of qualification
  12. (but aye, the 30 seconds of waiting to see if you've actually scored is )
  13. I see both sides of this argument, but do you really think the game nowadays is anywhere near "au naturale"? Something needs to be done to make the game more honest, perhaps this is the way...
  14. I mean "under 16" can mean a lot of things. I'm just going to pretend he's 2 years old and they're just calling him up to get him an England cap so he can't defect.
  15. I assume you're classifying gouff as more of an attacking midfielder than a winger, right?

  18. He had a fine season last year. He's still not a good goalkeeper and people are taking issue with "I wouldn't be opposed to him being the first choice". I would be opposed. Greatly.
  19. There are probably a few shades of grey on the shot stopping front like The world isn't all Alnwicks and Elliots you know.
