So you've managed to turn Pardew's efforts to instill confidence in Ba, into a negative by claiming it means we're not interested in signing another striker as our "main" striker. I don't think it matters who is defined as our main striker anyway, if we sign someone of similar level to Ba, that'd be fine with me, one does not have to be clearly defined as the number 1 strike-option as far as I'm concerned. And I'd still say I expect 15-25 goals from both of them, likelihood is one will turn out to be shite anyway.

Aye, was considered. Only reason I didn't is because I would prefer to see Ferguson on LW, and I wanted another defender on the bench. Either would be good in reality. I prefer him, and he's settled in the team as far as I'm concerned. But again, another thing that would be changeable as the season goes on.

It's certainly an ambitious signing, and the right kind of ambitious signing for a club like Sunderland - rather than spunking 80k p/w on some Luque equivalent. But it is a big gamble as far as their strikeforce goes for next season. It's the right way to go to throw him in at the deep-end IMO, but there is still a good chance he'll sink. We shall see.

tbf, it's not hard to make 'good business' after Liverpool have ridiculously overpaid for one of your players. If we get another striker in for around the £10m mark, we've made fantastic business out of the Carroll fun imo.
