I think one of the major problems is that Taylor is clearly a confidence player. He gave away the pen and you could almost see the confidence drain from him. He then made the mistake for the second and that was it. He could barely do the basics right from then on in. I'm not his biggest fan but he's done the basics to a decent level so far this season and that's why he's done ok. I would drop him for the next game. Not because he's had one bad game but because of that confidence issue.

Not bad at all. Had Guthrie or Ben Arfa scored, the game would have been massively changed. Same with Ba's chances in the first half. We got found at full back which is well overdue. We really need to sign another one and play him with Santon as our full backs. Ben Arfa looked very promising. Some intelligent passing, picked up some lovely positions and created two superb chances single handed. Shame Ba is no targetman as it doesn't look like the two will be effective together.

One of the important things to consider is where we were when he took us over. We had just finished 13th in the league in a season where we could have been relegated but for the odd win at the end of the season. The squad was extremely weak in depth to a point where Ramage and Huntington played big parts in the season. The wage bill was out of control with big wages being spent on players who weren't giving value. We had a new manager who no one ever really took to. The club was in massive debt and in serious financial danger. Looking at where we are now and in terms of our standing in the league we're about the same, 12th last year and probably somewhere mid table this year. The wage bill is well under control with probably only Xisco, Smith and maybe Harper, now he's not first choice, getting paid more than they offer. The squad is young and talented with better depth. We've invested heavily in the youth team and scouting networks making both far stronger than they were before. Overall, we look far healthier than we did previously. Obviously a lot of decisions have been very, very poor. However, I think we're only 1 good window away from being a very competitive team and the improvements behind the scenes seem really promising.

We started converting him when we were in the first division. When Jonas was injured for a few months at the start of the season and we had Enrique and Kadar.

Why on earth should we being 'converting' him? Maybe the coaches who see him every day in training think its the way forward. Maybe he doesn't have the end product for left wing? I don't know. I've seen him play left midfield once. Why did Danny Alves get converted? Bet whoever suggested it thinks he's a twat now.

I hate all this Ferguson isn't a left back crap. Neither was Ashley Cole, Zambrotta, Alves etc. Players can convert. He was fine at left back against Chelsea and Wolves last year. Maybe he's struggling because he hasn't played in a while. Or because he barely finishes a game most of the time and has now played 105 minutes.
