Kluivert did show some glimpses of brilliance during his time here. Shame it didn't work out. Quite a lot of reasons for his not-so-successful time here, namely: - Souness being a s**** (man) manager, - Kluivert not looking after himself. That is, it was pretty obvious that he wasn't managing his weight properly. This was probably why he kept getting those random little injuries. - His best strike partner, Bellamy being shipped out, - Shearer and Kluivert didn't really complement each other (despite a somewhat decent number of goals between them in the Cup competitions). Oh well, that's in the past now.

About Ba, I'm still pretty confident that he's going nowhere. Current situation aside (which is just a blip in form really, all players will suffer that at some point in their career), the setup we have here seems to be the perfect environment for him.

Haven't seen enough of Marveaux tbh. I was kind of hoping that Vuckic might fit in there, left side of a front 3. Would need to help out defending on that side but no where as much responsibilty as the LM position. Still, guess we'll have to wait and see on both of them! Think the role would suit Marveaux fine. You never know, Obertan could be a potential option there too (if, by some miracle, he actually acquires a footballing brain over the summer..........). Don't think Vuckic has the legs/mobility to play in a front three. I would much rather see Haris part of a midfield three (with him being the most advanced).

After last summer's US tour, probably not! Injuries and Barton's ban were not ideal, but if the objective of pre-season is to prepare a team that hits the ground running when the season kicks off then it can't have been a total failure? For me, we still looked a bit unfit when the season actually started. Don't think we handled the conditions (ie. the heat/humidity) in the US too well either. The Columbus Crew game was canny though! We'll be back in the US, I'm sure - we just need better admin staff! (There was also that Tiote visa issue........)
