This is coming from somebody who thought Ranger did have some raw attributes. But seriously, on reflection, Sammy showed more skill in those minutes against Scunthorpe than Ranger did in his endless chances. He actually struck a football cleanly that went into the net, too. Exact same feelings here. I was willing to give Ranger another chance because he did show a few glimpses of raw talent last season but it looks as if his attitude is still as s*** as ever. The stories from Beardsley/Nolan didn't particularly show Nile in a good light either. Best for both parties if Ranger moves on. It's a shame tbh.

Any better than what we go though? Loven for example? Not exactly the situation when we took Kuqi on, as we now have (arguably) six forwards already (Ba, Best, Shola, Sammy, Loven.......... Ranger), with Ben Arfa also to return to support a front man. I'd hazard a guess that part of the requirement for sealing a deal for a new striker was one of Ranger and/or Loven needing to be offloaded first. McFadden would be a slight improvement on Lovenkrands. Though as it stands the pecking order is what you've posted above. I wouldn't mind at all if we need Sammy to step up.
