Honestly, I don't see the point in changing the competition format. The Champions League place as a reward is a bit too much imo, the kick-off time is no-no imo. But I do agree that replays should be scrapped - a completely unnecessary addition to the hectic fixture calendar.

If we offer £1 million and he accepts a reasonable wage (20-30k), then I'd take him. Not going to happen mind.

Indeed, it also didn't help that SAF insisted on playing him in defensive midfield - that was never his best position. Thought he was a key player for us in the Championship (better than Butt anyway).

For me, it is actually pleasing to see us with the highest proportion of English players.
