YOu know its only embarasing because the first 2 teams we played were Nothing special. After that the quality of the opposition got much better. IN order to have won this cup, we had to beat at least 2 teams from our grp.(come 3rd in grp) ALot of the premership clubs would have been nervous about facing, Fenebache, palermo, or celta vigo. MAybe the wins were slightly lucky, but we DID beat them. Palermo are still 3rd in italian league atmo. FUrther.....in times past wasnt this competition called the intercity vase or something? Or is that something differnt?

Ive been reading posts on another forum that 33 pts could be the safety lvl for this year. DO you think any of the current 3 relegation hopefuls can accumulate more than 30 pts? WIgan are still in trouble but the teams above 30pts are beggingin to look safe. I mean for example it seems the blades have actually survived; anyone think the cuurent 3 (table footnotes)can survive?

dyer was poor in the second half. his miscontrol of the ballin the box was awful. He should of been subbed on 60min. He looked way better player than crouch in first half (not hard at all) tbh though i havent yet seen aninternational appearance from dyer that has been noteworth.....very ave at this lvl!

i agree with the not born into football thing. i come from a family where none on either side is into football. i wasnt interested in football tilli went away to uni and moved in with 2 mad footy fans. back in autumn 95 newcastle were doing well, and i decided to go and watch my first game of footy ( erm on sky) i picked a win over aston villa i think it was. ....think it was the 4-3 game.....i started to grow on me from there, i was 24. thats was the first football game i had really watched. Think i saw first half of mopreth town play.....back in 1982 but i dont recall finding it interesting.! anyway back to mase......where on tyneside were your grandparents from? and have u been to visit ur cousins recently?
