I'll give it a shot. Given - 7 Beye - 7 Colo -7 Bass - 8 Enrique - 8 Zog - 7-7.5 Butt - 6.5 - 7.0 Solid match. Gutrie 6.0-6.5 Jonas 7.5 Owen 7 Duke 7.5 Duff -7 Shola - 5. 5 for Shola? That's way too generous IMO! Otherwise I'd agree but maybe Owen with a 6 as he didn't impress that much

Enrique was best player of the 1st half...generally he did great except with the goal for not holding the line. Lenoon looks so frustrated with Jose already Shola was poor all 28mins on the pitch...He's probably the worst ever player to hold up the ball for a player who's supposed to hold up the ball! Viduka's not much better but even I can do better than what Shola did today! I blame him and only him for the goal as the defence didn't expect that at all and they wasn't supposed to

I believe he's after a long-term contract with us! Trying to pressure MA but I guess his methods are unnecessarily risky...for himself though

Hopefully a few of uor youngsters make the bench today instead of those old and worthless work horses a la Duff, Viduka and Geremi. For example Andy Carroll might easily get very disillusioned that he scores loads of goals in the reserves but can't get any games for the 1st team at all. Maybe he hasn't impressed when brought on from the bench so far but he'll never get the required experience if not given a chance and eventually he will be yet another Chopra...

Duff is one of the biggest waste considering value for money! If anything Kinnear should really think about selling Duff in January just to free around 75K(if it's not even as much as 90K) more for wages per week! Such a waste I think making profit was one of the most important things for MA but keeping such players Duff, Smith, Geremi, Viduka is just insane! It's around 230K per week just in wages and I guess the real sum is way bigger

I actually believe that the most important part of the team/which will eventually rule the style of playing for a team is midfield and especially the central midfield! When going forward midfield creates a chances and deliver the ball for stikers to score the goals...and when defending midfield should be trying to close down the opponent's playmaking and stop balls being played at their own half. Provide the required cover to the back4 that they are not put under too much pressure by the opponent's forwards and have enough time to clear the danger and give it back to own playmakers again. So...it's all about the preferred mentality of the midfielders you have and of course the opponent you play against

But the problem is that we have an Irish manager!
