According to the excellent Soccerway website, there have been 59 signings in the Premier League this summer (including those new players coming in on loan) and so at an average of around 3 per club this is how it breaks down; 7 Sunderland 6 Aston Villa 5 Hull 5 Swansea 4 Liverpool 4 Everton 4 Norwich 4 Fulham 3 Chelsea 3 West Ham 2 Crystal Palace 2 West Brom 2 Stoke 2 Man City 2 Man Utd. 1 Cardiff 1 Spurs 1 Southampton 1 Arsenal 0 Newcastle United A bit of exaggeration because I think 1 or 2 are only improvement for the current mackem squad. Mannone to replace Mignolet defo not or are they going start with Westwood in goal? No doubt it would be nice if we really managed to strengthen our squad as well but not blindfolded as Di Canio seems to be doing. A few up and coming youngsters for the developement team as well

At this rate we're going have difficulties to register minimum of 8 home grown players in the squad. Still leaving before end of the transfer window...Willo, Shola, Ferguson? 3 more HG players

Draw at best IMO Even without any of the new signing I would have given us a good chance to win today. They are really that s*** at the moment imo. At Villa we have scored only 8 goals in last 10 visits and won twice! We have won last time away from home 20 games ago against Braga in a pre-season friendly match! On what grounds do you really think we have a good chance...maybe it's improved since the signings but before that?

He's never going to turn it around! Our performances are just getting worse game by game. Maybe he's decent coach when the things are going good because of his man management skills but clearly he's pretty poor at developing players and getting the tactics right at right moments. Story of Pardew's coaching career...good first season and then it's just spiralling down until getting the boot!

Best signing category must include financial terms as well so Colo won't fit there because of his massive transfer fee and wages. HBA would be the best if only he had some consistency in his game. Huge vale for the money we paid defo but I think Tim Krul is the best signing closely followed by Yohan Cabaye. Absolute key memebers of our squad

I agree, if we can find some defenders in January i think we be ok. We had the same defensive line last season and we did okay. It's the midfield which doesn't do their defensive job at all and especially Tiote I think. He keeps losing possession constantly in very dangerous areas. Can't really imagine some top clubs would be willing to pay over 15 million for him not that long ago. He's nothing but a liability at the moment! It seems that Pardew has realized that we can't defend so he has chosen to go all out attack tactics in recent matches which might be entertaining but doesn't change anything. WTF is Cisse being played at wide right? It will get better when we get Cabaye back and Tiote off the pitch(unless he won't drop his horrible playmaking efforts).

Oh do f*** off man, we were terrific and you've got to give us credit for making them look poor at times. It was the pitch condition what made them play poorly not us! It's never a good performance if you concede 4 goals and all 4 were awful goals to concede. Pardew need to fix the defence ASAP....we have allowed 18 goals in last 10 games and no matter how effective(which is not the case) we play in the attacking 3rd we'll never going to win if we concede 2 per game!

Needs to swap Santon and Anita if the dutchman is left footed(took the shot quite well with his right though). Isn't right back still Santon's preferred position? Jonas's been very very bad and keeps giving the ball away every time he touches it. Cisse's and Ba's partnership looks quite bad. Ba doesn't even try to look for Cisse when he's on the ball. Going for solo every single time and trying too difficult things out there. Cisse and Cabaye are just way off the pace...
