  1. That's the one. Cheers. Unstoppable it was.
  2. There's a goal I've tried to find on YouTube but couldn't - maybe someone can help me with it? It's a Liam O'Brien free kick in the old second division that went like an exocet. I could have sworn it was his goal in the 5-4 defeat down at Filbert Street in 90/91(?) but when I found that game online I must have mis-remembered as it wasn't there. 99% sure it was at Leicester but could be wrong.

    St James' Park

Interesting that they are struggling to shift corporate, particularly The Barracks. Our family get together for one game a year and used to always nominate a game in July and then buy six Barracks tickets as soon as they came on sale at the beginning of the season. There are 500 I believe for each game and every game for the whole season was gone in about three days. This year they didn't put them on sale in summer and have been drip feeding them online just before the actual games. I was lead to believe this was to sell large blocks of tickets to larger corporate groups and sponsors and then release what was left in the lead up to the game (I might be wrong on that). Thankfully we managed to get ours for the Brentford game in February, but I've just checked online and although they've sold out for most upcoming games, there are still 59 available for Leeds. Obviously some or all may go before kick off, but it appears this new approach isn't working out, particularly for the higher priced corporate packages. Agree on the poor value for money on The Barracks too, although for our family it works as it gets us six seats together for a guaranteed game (we have people needing to book flights etc) when we no longer hold any season tickets.
  4. I'm 51. I was always pretty calm but have definitely mellowed further in the last ten years. I get the David Speedie thing, although never had an issue with Cambridge. I lived there for over five years, used to go the The Abbey regularly, and they are a team I still always look out for. Even I think Isak is a twat and am taking enjoyment from this. I didn't wish it (I don't think) but now it's happened it's kind of funny, in as much as it's fucking Liverpool off as Isak himself (I can't stand Liverpool). Don't mind that he left, but it's the way he did it. I was looking forward to kicking on this season and what he's done has severely hampered us.
  5. That's it. Villa don't do that. They eke out every point available. They've been poor at times in this run - tonight they've been second best to a patched up Man U side, but they take their chances and defend well. Their goal difference tells you as much. Emery just seems to get everything out of what he has in game. We did the same in the season we finished fifth under Pardew. Finished with a GD of +5.
  6. Football never ever fails to surprise. On 1 September I'd have called you crazy if you'd said I would celebrate another Isak goal in my lifetime.
  7. I didn't actually think Woltemade was that good today. He was decent and scored two, the second being an excellent finish, but he missed another to put the game to bed. His pressing was much better, but I felt a lot didn't come off for him and he held on to it too long sometimes. After half time he got very little joy. I'd have had Hall ahead of him in the MotM standings - him and Miley were both very good.
  8. Was upset at dropping two points but on reflection, feeling quite positive. I think Eddie's post match assessment was about right. It definitely didn't feel like we threw that one away, like the Spurs game, amongst others. The first half was excellent, and the third goal, as always was critical. Wolt missed two good chances, one arguably easier than his second goal, to put the game out of reach. In the second half we visibly tired (we had played 24 hours later than Chelsea and weren't able to rest as many), but the game turned on that third goal which was an excellent free-kick, although Ramsdale arguably shouldn't be beaten by a straight free-kick from that distance. Even then Barnes had a couple of chances he would normally bury and we didn't get a fairly solid penalty shout at 2-1. Still think Eddie was five minutes or so too slow with the subs and I'd have definitely kept Gordon on (Barnes for Murphy), as I still don't think Elanga is offering enough (yet) to get regular minutes. But much, much better. Each player on average covered 600m more than Chelsea in that first half - the second half was more even on that score as we tired. It's critical that the back four stay fit until others can get back as we're down to the bare bones there, but up top we've now got rotation options that should help us keep the press up for much longer in games. It's important though that we learn to flexibly switch between styles depending upon who is leading the line. It's also critical that we start to take this intensity into away games as we'll never get into the top half relying on home form alone. Plus points were: - Miley had another very solid game in a relatively unfamiliar position - Hall was excellent and seemed to come through unscathed (fingers crossed) - Despite missing a couple, Wolt scored another two which will be good for confidence after last week - for someone who's not a natural striker his return is decent - Wissa has more minutes under his belt - Gordon seemed like he fancied it - Tonali was poor technically (compared to his usual standards), but seemed to be getting back his normal fitness levels - the rest will come - We've got six days off to recharge the batteries, and after Man U a run of home games in the new year, punctuated with only two away games at Burnley and Wolves - Isak went off injured
  9. Yeah, I'd have been fuming if it wasn't. Don't want Liverpool winning mind and how nasty a c*nt must VvD be for so many players to be wanting to leave something decent on him.
  10. It'll be Wigan. I've wanted us to draw Barrow for years to play my best mates' team and they went out to Wigan on pens. Sod's law and all that.
  11. What a good finish that was. West Ham 1-0.

    FIFA World Cup

That draw gave me horrific flashbacks…
  13. Agree. Slightly tempered by yesterday but we're nowhere near out of it.

    Tino Livramento

Just a gut feeling but I think Tino and Hall will sign new deals. They both seem like level-headed lads who are enjoying their football here and working under Eddie. If we offer the right terms (that doesn't have to be stupid money, but a sensible deal) I think they'll stay on. We've just got to learn from the summer and make sure we get the timing/approach right.

    Yoane Wissa

As mentioned, I think DR Congo will want him fit and ready for the WC qualifiers, and Wissa will be desperate to get started in a black and white shirt, as well as to be up and running for the final UCL games/qualifiers/next round as he said playing in the UCL was a dream of his. There's no guarantee we'll be there next season. Probably a sensible decision all round.
