Someone was on talkshite at about 8:15 on my way to work, missed the start of his call so didn't catch his name (journo), it's was his opinion pardew wouldn't be here at start of next season.

Currently having an ongoing discussion with a bloke at work about this. He reckons all of his mates are all coming round to my way of thinking and all want him out after previously being behind him. He can't understand it and his only defence of Pardew seems to consist of "well the next bloke they hire may be worse". That's it. His only remaining reason for not pulling the trigger is that the replacement may be worse. Mentally ill tbh. I have debates with a lad I know, season ticket holder, home and away, never misses. However, his latest point was 'like fuck is this as bad as teh relegation season, we've been far worse off than this', as if that is a reason to keep a manager? wtf is wrong with these people?

Precisely. Canny obvious really. Being 3-1 down is misleading because it suggests we have to go for it but the away goals rule turns that completely on its head. It was absolutely imperative we got to half time with them at nil - that was the only priority in the first half and rightly so. If that means killing the game, and it did, so be it. Agreed. People mentioning how suspect they were in defence, forget how strong they looked on counter. We go for it first half, they can counter, game over early on. Like I say, no complaints from me tonight.

Going against the grain here it would seem, but I thought he got it pretty much spot on tonight. The plan was for them not to score first half, it had to be that way otherwise its game over early doors. Around the hour mark he changes it and we go for the game, and we nearly got it to be fair to him. No complaints from me tonight.

I disagree, I think he might be off in the summer. I'd love you to be right, just can't see it. Think he'll get next season (or part at least) to try and put it right.

Martin Jol for me. I dont know enough about Adkins. Martinez' teams spend too much time in bottom 3 for me to be convinced (you'd have expected him to have at least 1 breakaway season where Wigan do really well, he hasn't). Di Matteo is a chancer imo, Poyet wouldn't' happen due to links to Dennis Wise (although same could be said for Jol/Hughton). Anyone who is tactically astute would do me tbf.
