  1. not sure how i felt about it, i have to say i do feel sorry for th eolder two, as mentioned they had seen the other side of him and knew him before his major issues that he is currently going through. i think it is quite clear that they (mason especially) were cleasrly cut up by his state and did care about him an awful lot. his younger son probably only remembers the shite so has never had him as any sort of authority figure. again, i dont see why they had to do it on tv, but gazza was initially up for it according to the show last night.
  2. sheryl yesterday claimed iy was gazzas idea and he backed out last min.
  3. Farrington in the Sunday Sun. knew i had seen it somewhere.
  4. didnt anal oliver claim yesterday in his people article that colo and jonas were also available?
  5. Plus he looks absolutely sick to the stomach of being at Newcastle. Please just go and start shaving regularly again. We're all sick. Of you. great craic that.
  6. Final Score is still on at 11pm? I meant when it was on. aye, just read that, will sign monday apparently
  7. reaction from page 31??? theres only 24 pages man, sack the mods!
  8. like booby robson, alex ferguson and wayne rooney himself? aye, i am. Immature, I know. Best pornstar name ever. But did you honestly think we had a chance of signing him? rooney says himself he was ready to come if man utd hadnt come in for him, so aye, i do. at least we had a fucking go, we wont be doing that again anytime soon, thats for sure.
  9. aye, and that creative midfielder/modric alternative we all knew [manager included] we desperately needed, is flying for us isnt he? so whats the argument here, that we dont spend money or we dont buy the right players? fuck knows im just on one. i guess its a combination of the two, i think it was clear what we needed last summer, and we didnt do it, so i guess it smore the positions we are buying. i also think we were in a position [and still are] where we needed serious investment in most area's, si although we have spent, i do not feel we have spent anywhere near enough.
  10. Was listening to the Legends last night and Bernie was saying they have huge debts. Think Southgate was saying they are just looking to keep their squad together. Obviously if Downing goes he will try and replace him. sure i read somewhere that gibson isnt prepared to bankroll it anymore and wants the debt cleared?
  11. Tend to agree with this these days. I stuck up for Ashley for ages on the back of this 'offer' but at the end of the day bids mean nothing. I find it impossible to believe that the plan B after missing out on Modric was buying Guthrie. precisely. where the fuck are the alternatives man?

  14. oh right, thats it is it? silly me, thats must be why arsenal, man utd and liverpool [teams that win things] do the same then.....oh wait
  15. thats how i read it, which rules out geremi.
  16. a lot of man utd fans would argue otherwise about butt mind. I wouldn't rate Butt as a top class player ever. He was good, at times very good but never had what it takes to be a top class player. Depends on your definition of top class, he was never as good as Keane (who I'd say was world class, obviously the terms are subjective) but he produced in the Champions League consistently (was Man Utd's only central midfielder in the final btw) and he produced at the World Cup. as did trevor sinclair and danny mills though [good world cups]. point taken on champs league mind, but the man utd fans i know have never rated him.
  17. surely this was a signal that ashley will spend big? i think im right in saying it was £20m plus and would have smashed our transfer record? then you have .com's take on the upson interest, claiming we had shown our hand to the tune of £6m? the woodgate offer this time last year as well. so what the fuck goes on? where does the money go? because it doesnt get spent on alternatives does it? (actually collocini was obviously signed for big money so theres the woodgate alternative.) personally, i think its a further indication that wise has the final say, because we certainly didnt bid big on keegans targets, and if kinnears £6m form ashley and £6m to raise is owt to go by then he isnt getting much either. i'll try wait and see how january unfolds before making my (final) decision on ashley, in the (foolish) hope of a nice surprise, but fuck me, this is a mess. the communication for one is digusting, the lack of comment from boardroom level coupled with the fact that joe kinnear's face belongs on an armitage shanks makes for one frustrating year. i just find it puzzling that we have offered big for players, and then as time goes on the money seems to disappear.

  19. my neighbour is a blackburn fan and he has just said the same, he started off badly but he was sad to see him sold in the end. he's 3/4 years older now though..
  20. "Will there be surprise exits? I would not have thought so. None of the big boys but maybe other players who have come in to the value of £16m for three of them'' howay then, who is he talking about?
